I have considered many things. Taking out the engine and putting in a si Engine. Or maybe even leaving this engine in and dropping a turbo on it. But I am not sure what would the best way to deal with it is. Any ideas?

Be careful when you are dropping the turbo on it, you might break something.

Also, the best way to deal with it is to realize that you will not get any power out of it unless you spend at least $3,000 on either 1) a K-swap or 2) a reliable turbo set up.

ya dude the bad thing is that there is little to no aftermarket support for our vehicles performance wise compared to other generation civics. you wanna go fast, do a k-swap! if you don't have the money check out dezod turbo kits. havent heard the best reviews about them though. also not a good idea to turbo a motor with over 100k miles

Theres always boost man. There aren't many kits for d17's out there but i would suggest going to a shop that specializes in Honda. They can built you a custom setup. I know a guy in my area that would do a custom turbo setup on my D17A2 for about $4500. Keep in mind that this is very high quality parts and of the highest reliability. Theres always K Swap too although this will be about 6-7 K, depending on which engine you for. At long as you don't go for the K20A3...haha that wouldn't be worth K swapping.

listen homeboy I never told him to get an Evo, cuz my boys have a STi 350z and a SRT-4 and I dont tell them to get a Evo. im just making a point that no matter how much money you put into a d17 your gonna get very little hp. matter fact do whatever you want bro k-swap, turbo it's your money. cuz im not the one worried about bein fast I dont have that problem

If you can't find a K20 at reasonable price, and I don't know anybody who can. You could buy and entire salvaged '06 accord with a K24 and use it as a donor car for half the price of a k20 engine, alone. Even with an ATM and no tweaking it'll be quicker than any "street legal" K20 off the line and that's what I'm going to be working on.

Imop it's more cost effective to just swap for a k-series you can only boost safely on stock internals what 200hp with a good tune. A k can make that from the factory add k-pro and bolts and bam you will be 10x happier.

You actually need K-Pro no matter what, whether you swap the K or go turbo.
