Default 2001 Civic EX stalling Occasionally at stops

Hello, I'm new to thre forum, looks like a good place. I recently ran into a problem with my civic that I'm hoping you guys could help me with. I bought an automatic, 01 honda civic over the summer for my commute to college. I'm putting about 350 miles a week on it. The other day and today I ran into some trouble.

When slowing down to a stop at a light the car started running real rough (like it was bogging down) and then it stalled out. I put it into park and tried to start it but it didnt fully start, it was firing constantly but not enough to run fully. The light turned green and I gave it gas and that got it going. Driving for the next few seconds I could feel it drop to low rev's(less than 500rpm) and start to studder or bog again but after a few more seconds on the throttle it ran fine. Came to a stop in the parking lot and it ran fine.
This has happened twice, completely stalling it twice and almost stalling it another time but I was able to throttle out and keep it from stalling. It's a hard problem to duplicate so I dont want to waste time with a auto place. So far it has only happened after the car has been running for atleast a half hour. Car has 120,000 miles on it, and last mpg test I gave it, it was geting a solid 36mpg. No lights are on while the car is running. I really need this thing staying in tip top
shape for my commutes, dont want any accidents. From what I've heard online it could be fuel filter, ignition module, dirty throttle body, or something with the tps. Dont know what to do so I figured i'd check out a forum that can hopefully help. Any help appreciated! Thanks!

I asked my old auto tech teacher, and he responed as follows.........

It is a possibility that it could be the fuel filter, but the most common effect of a fuel filter is that the vehicle will not run at high speeds cold or warmed up. Not enough fuel can pass through it to supply the need of the engine.
I am more inclined to believe that your fuel pump is failing and you have been given a few warnings. You should check the fuel pressure.

what do you think?

I say start by doing a throttle cleaning. Thanks to the EPA, all sorts of **** gets sucked through it as the car runs, after 120K its probably pretty dirty. A lot of times with these cars, thats the issue. I havent heard too many people burning up fuel pumps on these things, and the filter isnt inline in this car, the filter is integrated into the cap of the fuel sender assembly in the tank... havent seen too many of those going either.
I'd try the throttle first (since it'll only cost you the $3.29 for throttle body cleaner), and maybe a bottle of injector flush with the next tank of gas.

I say you clean the Idle air control valve (IAC).
its probably real dirty, causing the engine not to get effecient air while at idle.

I don't think this car has a fuel filter.
