good buy, i purchased mine with 120K for $4500 of my brother in law and till the day it has not gave me major problems, the only thing is the ac compressor but other than that no other problems, i say go for it if everything looks/runs clean and good....

Maybe, I just bought an '04 EX with 114k for 6300. It was from a dealer though, so after all the taxes and fees it was closer to 7200. Had a clean carfax, and is in nearly perfect condition. Mine is a manual, so no worries on the auto tranny probs.

kbb isn't realiable anymore, the more accurate way is to look around craigslist and compare the price, mileage, model, condition of car, transmission, title, etc...i gave my auto 01' to my sister and i'm looking for a manual es1 now, the cheapest i've in what seems to be good condition is around $5500, so yea that's a good deal.

Auto Tranny's are junk, and the suspensions are not up to par as previous civics, be prepared to replace your struts, ball joints, complience bushings, stabilizer links and lower control arm bushings every 50,000 km's or 30,000 miles

Re: 2001 civic 100k worth $5500?
ya, i bought mine (in canada) for 5300(canadian) last summer, with 179 000km on it BUT w/ brand new tranny, so i got a prety decent deal too. I'd say 5500 for 100k is pretty good deal. Most common problems with 01's are ball bearings in transmission, but apparently the ones on my car lasted until like 165-170k, so you never know. Check how it runs, if it's clean with all the maintenance done, i'd say go for it.

My parents bought a 04 civic brand new and then i took over the payments and stuff, and it has 100700 miles on it and i have never ever had a problem with it. My dad is a mechanic and he said as long as the guy kept with the oil change's it should be alright. The car looks clean change the radio and it would be better. And about GriFFIthS remake about the auto traning. i have never had a problem and dont know what u mean junk. Honestly i have another 200000 miles.lol
