Window Trim Issue
The trim on my car window on my passenger side has the black paint flaking off. I cannot think of a better way to explain it. But it bothers me. And I'm wondering if it's possible to take off and re-paint. And if so, does it need a special paint or can I just use black rattle can and then clear it?
Here's a photo from my ride.

Re: Window Trim Issue
i would try using plasti-dip. comes in a can, you probably can sand off the rest of that stuff that's left on the trim and spray a few coats of plasti-dip. will cover it good and give a nice matte finish.
otherwise, I would look for some OEM/OEM-style trim paint, but you will have to prep beforehand, maybe even primer.

Re: Window Trim Issue
Take a heat gun to your old window trim and get the black coating warm and it peels off like plasti-dip and prime the bare metal under that and just spray it with duplicolor trim paint matches really close if not spot on to the factory coating.
Never had a problem with it fading on me like regular rattle can either.

Re: Window Trim Issue
I had the same issue. I was going to buy new ones, but when I went in to my local honda parts department, they were something like $100 a side. You can't really sand off the old stuff because it's rubberized. I just scraped it off anf then sanded the metal a little and went over it with plasti dip. It's similar to the original finish and if you take your time, it's a pretty good solution and much cheaper.

Me with extra change? Bro that's a myth. I never have money. I'll look into plasti-dip for the moment and see where it runs. I have a business to run too. Drives me nuts that that takes finance priority. And I'll prolly do both sides so they look even. Type A problems, yo.

Re: Window Trim Issue
So I was chipping off the old paint today and saw that the trim itself is chipped and missing pieces, not just the paint going bad. So I will need to just buy a new one. Where did you get yours? Dealer or factory?
