There's actually quite a lot of Autocross and Open track day events held near where you live (PA). And, they've been around for quite a few years. You may just not be aware of them, due to your particular interests.
As for your car, even with it sitting down on the wheels... its still far too high off the ground to be considered a track car. At best, you could claim its a part-time drag car. But, to be honest, its still just a show car with some improved horsepower. And, 450whp on an Auto? Are you sure 450 is accurate? Do you have a dynochart to prove that claim?

Yea I've not seen much autocross here at all. Maybe 3-4 hr away but not in my town or neiboring towns. I watch after all the scheduls I can find and support all the events locally. I don't have a trailer so do the events farther away is a issue in case I would break something . Besides the fact I just really wanted to know why at first glance you don't like the car and I'm getting very interesting feedback. I guess like dude said its all in what I want but still I like it be appealing to others. Here the older guys have not seen much of these cars and when they do they see poorly built clusters. They older fellows see it go down the track then they come over to see what the heck made that happen. Its great and I learn a lot from the muscle guys and vice versa sometimes. I'll pm pics of the bracket also so you can see how I did it and for that matter you could use a grinder if you like and a steady hand.I'll send it here shortly for ya.

Auto swapped now to manual 5 speed by syncrotech. It was a sweet auto trans that was in it though, For a auto it really worked well but smoked a torque converter then the trans is still good didn't break it.. But anyhow what do you not like about the looks back to the topic

OK yea I've taken enough of a beating now and I pretty much think no one likes it because the ricer look but I like it and its a corn burner now instead of rice so hahaha anyhow have a great and safe holiday weekend, absolutely no hard feelings but yea I think I know why now. Thanks fellows!

i'm sure you're a skilled machinist and know what you're doing without a doubt. all and all, it's not up with the "trend", but as many said, u like it and that's all there is to it, several of us like it just the same. i mean, it was a cool car then, its still a pretty cool car now though. great work, keep it up bro!

I've also been building my EF for 10yrs.
I'm a OG member and have a soft spot for bodykit cars... (lol)
if people don't like your ride or talk ****:
1) don't take it personally
2) for ever 100 POS honda, or typical honda car only 1/10th of the are highy modded with solid parts & craftsmanship... so don't listen to the haters.
3) hang out with other car builders & or others who have nicer cars.... even if they don't love your car, they can appericate the work/money & vision you put into your car. Don't hang out with noobs or posers who haven't even built a nice car.
4) build it for you & nobody else. At the end of the day when you close the garage door, your car has to give you a sense of pride & happiness. Nobody else opinion should matter. If you over value other peoples "style" opinion (tech opinion is different), you'll end up changing/wasting money transforming your car appereance to keep up with the lastest retarded car "trend".

Besides the wing, I like it a lot. I got into Hondas in the body kit era and I still have a liking for them. I'm not a huge fan of the wheels either, but they go with the rest of the car. Quality work shows and I see it here. Props for not being a follower.

IF i daily drove my car (like 98% of the guys on here) sure I would keep it stock. I wouldn't even put rims or lower my car, put on exhaust or anything that would attract thieves.
Luckly for me, I don't daily drive it.
I take it to car show & race events & not afraid to break stuff & get dirty.
This is my first honda build, it won't be my last.
Still want to build about 4-5 more hondas to add to the garage.

From 2001 to 2009, I only drove it like 1,000 miles
2010 & 2012 had about 800 miles

The lady at the DMV asked me if I just came back from "asia" on long trip, since it was 2002 when I last had tabs on it, I had to get new plates + tabs.
before I did a complete tear down.

...and in my head I was always like "really?... if you say so, but who are you comparing my car to, typical rusty fart can hondas?"
I was being compared downward....:ghey:
I'd much rather be compared/complete upwards towards online builds & magazine cars. So in 2010 I tore it her down and but her backup together.

I get tired of people using the word "clean" to describe stock looking cars.
You wouldn't walk up to a stock appearing corolla, audi, mustang, ford truck and say "man that corolla is clean as fawK".
IMHO clean as TWO meanings:
1) overall well moded car inside and out
2) average honda that doesn't have any rust & decent +15yr old paint job
That I know of (personally seen up close) there are only about 25-30 or so CLEAN highly modded hondas locally (inside & out).
all the others are just "clean" or "ricers" either way average at best.

Just because it has a kit doesn't make it a ricer. If you call Charlie's car a ricer then you don't know what a ricer is. Just go driving in St Paul for a day and you can snap a lot of photos of a true ricer. This is a clean kitted car, only some cars can pull off a body kit and this is a example of a nice body kit civic.
but i picked up my EK so i guess I'm alright..haha SICK EF MAN.While the car isnt my cup of tea appearnece wise the car is executed correctly. But not everyone has the same tastes. One of the few compliments I can give charlie is that he does it for himself and to please himself. Why mod it to ways others think is nice or clean.
His car matches him. Fob style hair clothes and swag with the throwback style ride. He's not like all the other hippy mofuckas trying to fit in lol

Yea I gota agree you put alot of things into perspective charlie!!! Since the car really isn't a "ricer" I don't get mad when someone would call it that (anyone who sees it in person never has said that, at least not in front of me) when someone says that on the net, I laugh because I know what's in there and reply its a corn burner if anything since it runs on ethanol now.. I am glad u put up the post charlie, the car reminds me of my Buddy's EF, he loved the hatchback, I've always really liked it too, I've been trying to talk my lady into the new cr-z. Just happened to see one the other month rolling down the interstate and it looked like a retro crx (obviously). I've never had any hatchbacks but always wanted a crx to use as a daily driver or hatch civic for that matter in nice condition could even do the trick....very nice build, I love it! Keep up the great work!!!!

Dont worry my friend. This is all coming back around. Im seeing more and more of the late 90s and early 00s styling coming back. This is how is started last time, C west, Mugen and Veilside body kits turned cool, then came the knockoffs and body kit craze. Im even seeing the aftermarket fenders again. Wont be long now.
As far as my personal opinion on the car, I think its nice, just looks like something Id see in Super Street around 01. People are going to hate because it doesnt fit todays "trends".
I can definately relate though. Back then I drove a 99 EX with bolt ons, nitrous, cage, 18" Motegi Ro_jas, buddy club2 body kit and APR wing, lol. It was ballin back then, lol.
Just have fun with it and do your thing.

I've never heard anyone say it looked like a rustang but I did a show one time and a guy says "wow look at that cavalier" I almost dropped dead on spot. I didn't correct him but damn I needed to go for a drink and think about what I've done..... hahaha so I'll take the rustang comment over the "other" comment any day... hahahaha..... thanks fellows!
