Is there such as washing a car too much?
I've heard if you wash ur car too much it will eat the gloss from ur car... I wash my car every friday and wax it every friday so i was just curious to see what everybody's opinions would be on this?

Dont wax your car every week, thats way too much. I'd say wax it every other month, max. It just builds up and gets nasty.
If you want to keep good care of it, get some good polish and polish it every week instead of waxing. You wax way too much, trust me.

i wax mine every other month and wash it every week. ive also heard too much wax will eat at the clear coat. it seem like u like to wax cars and mines due for a wax, want to come do my car?

haha my neighbors look at me stupid cuz i wash my car once a week..doesnt matter if there is snow or not haha unless its freezing out... dont wax as much though i wax once every 2 months unless there are shows to be entered in

ok I just went to the store and bought 'NU FINISH' car polish..now like you guys said i can polish every friday and it won't do anything bad to my car but waxing makes it look ugly waxing a lot just seeing if what i heard was right about polishing my car every friday will make it look good and wont damage my car

Wow... waxing once a week is bad? I guess I do learn something new everyday, LOL. I use to do that every week during the summer.
I have a question though. Is it still bad to wax every week, even though I wash it once a week with dish-washing soap?

yea i got a gf im 18 i work full time at one job and part time at another and go to college...busy schedule but i also like my car to look nice

OMG, I have to tell you before you guys ruin your paint. DONT use NU FINISH that is not a detailing polish that is a STRONG rubbing compound. It is an abrasive compound meant for heavily swirled, oxidized crappy paint. Dont use it on your car. It will strip off the wax along with a bit of your clear coat. Also dont use dish soap on your car often. You really shouldnt use it at all. It is too harsh for your paint. Use a car soap like Maguires or something.

dishwashing soap is bad for your paint. you can tell the difference when you run your fingers along the finish, it will feel dry when compared to a car washed with soap made for car washing.
