Rusting your hood....flame suit strapped on tight!
Ok ok, i know, it's not at everyone's likings but...my hood is rusted on the front. So i put some primer on to cover it up. Anyways, long story short, the car is going into paint next year, so i wanted to have some fun with the hood and rust it out. I've been searching all over HT and couldn't find any pics? Can someone please post some up if you have?
Thanks guys/gals!

You could go many routes to get it stripped, but I've heard that vinegar helps accelerate the oxidizing process.

did this on my old mk3 jetta, on the roof trunk and hood. strip it down to bare metal. take salt water and spray the area you want rusted liberally. then throw a tarp over top of the area you want to rust. pretty much overnight it will be pretty rusted.

I'm just doing it for the hell of it. If you would see my hood, you'd probably do the same as me

well everything else rusts on hondas lol..
but i heard a vinegar / salt water solution works well to rust the hood.. and leave it in the sun with that on it and it should rust pretty well.. after stripped of course.

There is an archived "hood ride" thread, but not specific like this one.
