I tried this, snapped a bolt and used too long of a bolt on the other side. Now my hood is held up by 3 bolts and there's a nice bump on the top of the hood where the too-long-of-a-bolt hit.

Yep............... nuff said. Longer bolts and a washer or 2. You can go to home depot and get some plastic washers, that's what I did. It does work for heat extraction, I saw my temp drop by a few degrees.

I think it looks retarded, but I'm more concerned with on track cooling and feeding air to my ITB's.

Where is the thread saying Cowl hoods on domestic cars is "rice"?

If you dont have ITB's or your definition of hard driving is your favorite country road, then yeah, you're a jdm fanboy.

It does work for heat extraction, but its done by getting more airflow into the engine bay.

A cowl hood on a muscle car for example works by feeding the carb air bouncing off the windshield.

Air glides over the hood.
It then hits the base of the windsheild, creating a low pressure area, allowing the hot air to escape from the engine compartment.

I know it's a pt cruiser, but you get the idea.

Actually, it's a high pressure zone. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hood_scoop

It's just a stupid fad that honda owners jumped on to. what did you expect? most of these honda owners are ricers anyways. This fad goes along well with relocated front license plate, slanted option2 rear sticker, slanted windshield sticker, etc. I've seen alot of hanging toy on tow hook fad lately too. People are just posers and sheeps.

notice how everyone does it on this forum, this is why i created honda-tech stage mods =D</TD></TR></TABLE>

dam u described my ****.
