Re: put her to work
the splitter was pushing the bumper upwards because I installed those ssr rubber connector things to hold the bumper on . I took the splitter off , took the ssr thingys off and just got a big washer , a ten mm bolt and nut and bolted it up. I could have left the splitter on since the bumper was more solid and bolted to the fender but I did not want to waste any time because each group was running pretty quick and did not want to skip a session . I was alone there so it was either make sure the car was running fine in regards to oil levels , tire pressure , etc etc or throw the aero back on. At least I know the splitter works because it was creating a down force pushing on the bumper , those ssr things are obviously just for show and was a mistake putting them on.
you can see in the pic the bumper is overlapping the fender and I tried to also fix this by slapping some red duct tape on , still did not work because the pressure was to strong for that weak connection point. It should be fine now with the ten mm bolt and nut.

hard to say because the bumper was never properly reinforced at the fender , the next open track day if i can't run any faster then what the car is doing then i will install it all back on.

hey, if you splitter is working, it should be trying to push itself down toward the ground and off the bumper. the air passing over the flat surface on the bottom creates a downward suction, pulling the whole car downward. something doesnt sound right. is it connected to the bumper or to the chassis? make some brackets and bolt it on the where the oem towhooks bolt on. you should be able to stand on that thing and jump up and down.

it's bolted to the stock tow hooks like most splitter brackets. Since the connection point to the fender was only fastened with that ssr rubber band bullshit , it was pushing downward causing the bumper to over lap onto the fender. The way I have it now would have solved that problem.
