I have come across a really old body kit for an 88-89 Civic Hatchback. The retailer stated that it was WingsWest's first hatchback body kit, before they had their RS Series kit that everyone is more familiar with. The kit is extremely similar to the Xenon CRX lip kit (if not it's nearly identical) with the main difference being, other than Civic vs CRX, that this kit is made as a half bumper cover instead of a lip kit. I'm sure the youngsters have no idea what I'm talking about but here's a long shot request, anyone have any pictures of the kit in question? Old import showoff pics? Old magazine ads? I've searched for hours on the internet, can't find anything (not that I thought I would LOL).

That's the one, except on the hatchback those front and rear lips go all the way up to the molding so it makes more of a bumper cover than anything else. I don't know if the sides are the same but really I'm just interested in seeing a hatchback with the kit or better yet an original advertisement or catalogue picture. I'm curious as to whether or not the hatchback version is infact a kit that was offered by WingsWest.

Nope, they had that one there too though. It literally looks like the Xenon CRX kit, just taller. Let me upload a couple of pics I took of it.

EDIT: Actually after comparing that pic you included, the lower portion (lip area) of the front bumper on mine comes out a few inches more forward than the one on the CRX but the shape of the sides area is the same, even has the line that kinda just drops down for no real reason.

i have some old sport compact car mags from the early 2000's with those full page kit adds. I will try and find them and snap some pics. I just hope I can find them

Moe-I just saw your missed call, I'm at work right now. I actually wanted to stop by when I picked up those bumpers and see what's new but my phone quit on me a few weeks ago, I lost some numbers including yours. Glad you called LOL I'll hit you up later.

Connor-I appreciate it, I was going to do the same thing, I still have a couple from 95-96. I might stop by one of the local shops, I think they still have a huge binder with the original catalog from WingsWest.

Interesting to see that it appears to be a legit pic from Japan. It would make sense since most of the original WingsWest kits seemed to be copies anyway.

Ok did some research. If you have Google Chrome you can translate the owners blog. Multiple names seemed to have been used for the bumper. One name I have never heard of was a company named "Pacific" PM sent with the link.

Found a link that has a picture of the same front and rear but for a 90-91 bumper. The author does say he bought the kit new from a company called Pacific Aero. Unfortunately the sideskirtsin the following pictures are from a different kit.

I have some photos of the kit but will need to scan them. Pics are circa 96, hatch Had little scoops in the corners of the side skirts.

Wow that kit for the 4 door integra is nice, probably close to impossible to find though. I picked up an issue of scc off line from 99 debuting the EM1 I wanted for my collection. It will be here next week and I will try and locate the kit in one of the adds.
