Painting Corner lens/Bumper lens amber, check it out....
After about 4-5 coats of the stained glass stuff, this is the resulting color. WTF?! I thought it'd turn out darker after that many layers. Should i have used the orange stained glass paint with some red stained glass paint?
I think i'll try painting the bumper lights one more time when they fully cure.
--I forgot to add, this was a little experiment. Me being uber poor, i figgur i'd spray the orange part of the corners, hoping to darken them. If they work, then it would save me from buying the jdm clears or ebay ambers

I clear coated the corners, and after everything's 100% dry, it might appear to be darker, i'm not sure though.
As for the bumpers, one more spray today and i call it quits. Five coats should be enough cus i'm running out of spray paint

REally, wow, haven't heard of that before. It's alright, i think in the future i'll buy some cheapo ebay ones and do those right, with a slight mix of red to really darken it up. But that's weird, blinking lights could melt the paint?

I did inside and out on the bumper lenses...so rock chips wouldnt be as noticable not to mention I did them in 1 heavy coat opposed to many light coats

Okay, after 2 more coats (over 6 coats total) on the bumper lens, this is the result:
And the corner after the clear coat dried (after 5 coats):
For the most part, the bumper lights came out just as i had hoped. The only problem is that they're 14 years old, so they have a few minor knicks here and there, with a slight crack on one of em. All minor things can be clay bar'ed out and polished though.

Re: Painting Corner lens/Bumper lens amber, check it out....
has anyone ever found 90-91 style amber lenses anywhere ?
is painting the only option ?
does anyone have amber corners with painted bumper lights that match well? which paint(s) did you use?
