Sorry but when people had those cars in those years, they wanted wheels like GRNs, Starks, GP-Thetas, MK-IIs, Demon Cambers, etc. not steelies.

a lot of people back then ran the steelies with the beauty rings and center caps, I actually went to a lot of trouble to find 14's in steel that looked like vintage honda wheels for my 86, they would look strange on later honda stuff but the early stuff the old school look works perfect, the geo storm ones I found look vintage and actually weigh less then the first generation teg sawblades i used to have, the argent silver paint is almost dead on for early honda silver

I think steelies look sick as long as they're in good condition and have a good coat of paint on them.

the beauty rings are what sets them off, they still make stainless ones shallow enough to fit front wheel drive offsets

I've done painted steelies, back in 06:

Not all replica parts are bad, some are actually quality produced parts. Back when it all started, the shops would carry quality parts such as HKS, Greddy, Apexi, Skunkworks (Before it changed to Skunk2), etc.....these are quality parts produced by reputable companies that have been in the business for decades.
Then American companies started to copied and produced parts. Skunkworks being one fo the first.
Now a days, everyone is copying each other left and right. (Example Blox/Blackworks, etc.) Replica parts just don't have the same kind of research or testing into them but rather have an descent external image to meet the real part.
It doesn't matter how much your car or your house is worth (even if it's not much) but if you're always improving/fixing it with quality parts, the end product will always be an improvement if you are using quality parts.
Quality > Quantity

Never been a fan of steelies, would rather have some Ex or Ls caps on

Do you guys drink Coke or "Cola"?

I'd like a new trend of people saying (and doing) things like this.

Damn I thought I was the only one who disliked this whole hellaflush scene. This trend has taken over the import scene and its retarded. Everyone is trying to be unique just like everybody else.

I would like to see more motor builds, def wagon restorations. I can always appreciate a nice build. And of course more sedan builds

I'd like to see people who go onto threads that are clearly stated eBay turbo kit or knock of mugens or whatever it may be and just bashing the poster or there car for usin cheaper and low quality parts. If u don't like don't look at the thread. Simple as that. It's there car and you don't know the whole story about the person some people just can't afford to buy legit wheels or spoon/ mugen parts. I built my d16 and boosted it using quality parts but sorry no I can't afford to spend 2g plus on a set of wheels that cost more the. My motor

I would rather spend more money on a better base car, and save money on a set of rota's, then buy a lesser car and put it on Volks...

In the end, I would have spend just as much money, but I'm still in the better car. Wheels can be changed later on... The car will stay.

If you can do both, buy the better car, and install a set of Volks, more power to you then.

The funny thing is, the guy we bought the wheels from had them for sale for quite a while but couldn't get rid of them.
And in the meanwhile I've seen three guys with Evo's and a WRX buying new sets of similar Rota wheels in the same size.
The Weds are 5x114.3/5x100 so they fit both, yet no one was interested in them because they all wanted Rota wheels...
very true, the scene here in the Benelux is very strange. You are better off selling Rota's, then the real deal. The Rota's will move a lot faster for the same amount of money.

BTW: komen jullie naar Hondafest, anders moet ik nog enkele extra dingen inladen...

Being an informed Honda/Acura is much better than being an ignorant Subaru or Mutsubishi owner.
Probably because the informed Subaru/Mitsubishi owner knows that Rotas are perfectly fine rims, they're going to stand up to anything they put the car through, they do the exact same thing any other "real" rim will do. It's the ignorant honda/acura owners like yourself who think they're better than someone else because they bought a "real" part, spent more money and have "status".

It has nothing to do with being able to afford a better set of wheels, it's being smart and not paying 4x+ the price for something what's going to do the exact same thing and look almost the same. High end race cars who can afford any wheel race on Rotas.. Why? Because they're smart and know they're good wheels and don't have to spend that much on them. AMS's 1,100+ awhp evo 8 drag car rolls on Rotas slipstreams and has had 0 problems with them.. Why didn't they spend more on the wheels, not because they can't afford them or they're not solid, because they can handle all that power it puts down..

So tell me more about the ignorant subaru owners when it's the "informed" honda crowd who care more about real vs fake and status.

I have been on this site way longer than 99% of all you guys, and I have seen several fads come and go for our cars. The whole "stanced" but cant really drive it is the worst one yet. Its really no wonder were the laughing stock of the import and domestic world.

Stance: Is flush with a little camber, very functional, often mistaken for hellaflush. So much that if you google it, the only cars that come up are hellaflush type cars. Sad.

Hellaflush: Over sized wheels on stretched tires, hella.

I have ran 15x7.5 +20's on my car and my car was very functional and drove great, everywhere. Some guy's will take it to the extreme but that's always the case with any trend. I'm a true believer in FORM/FUNCTION. I have it, have had it, will always have it.

As for the cheap parts that people put on cars...I've said this before, and I'll say it again. I bought an EG from a guy who had all cheap parts with little or no research behind them, my car drove like poop. The suspension was garbage(skunk2 sleeve overs), Ebay intake, I could go on and on. It has taken me 2 years to replace(and sell) all the parts for quality parts on my car. I look at my car as a hobby, which takes time, patience. I didn't expect to just drop a grand and poof, my car is done. It takes time to build a car right, even if you have limited funds, it can be done, I'm proof. I know have good quality parts on my EG and it runs awesome. My Tein's make a world of difference over the sleeve overs that were on my car before, even a world of difference over my FF coils I had on my EF(which weren't bad). I think that most people hate on quality parts bc they want instant gratification with their ride.

Finally, trade out your current bushing set for some Hardrace bushings or some other quality brand and come back and tell me your car isn't a completely different car! I'm a subtleties kind of guy not a flashy import kind of guy with my car. Keep it simple IMO. Let's see some more BARD K's.

I've had both both rota slips and folk ce28's. Bargain prices get you bargain quality. Holding them in your hands the quality feels different. Just my belief, a rota will crack and break before a set of Rays.

I don't know anything about being ignorant because you like a certain. If I had a problem with Mitsubishi owners its the waste of money on the car. 25k+ for a lot of boost and a weak motor. Who cares about the car when your driving a money pit.

I want to see function over form come back, and what ever happened to fabrication? we have a few guys here who can make things, but it's the exception not the rule, people used to make things because they wanted to, I'm in the process of spending a bunch of time making an oil separator right now, I could have spent a fortune on an expensive one, or bought a cheapo ebay Chinese one and improved it, but I wasn't happy with what was available. Same reason I made my muffler from scratch, people used to make things all the time, I'm tired of going to import shows and seeing the same stuff over and over and over
