Yes. I have a GSX-R
As far as being a little advanced for a first timer. Maybe so but if you're not careful you could do some damage w/ a 250 Rebel. The first bike I ever rode or owned was my GSXR and I was fine. You just have to fear the bike to a degree and respect it. That's the key.
