NOFX, no offense, but sometimes it's helpful to know what you have.

I know. I never said it isn't.

I just don't see the point in arguing over it in a thread that is NOT about chassis codes.

The guy wants photos of '96-'00 Civic coupes (I think that's clear) that are lowered. He wants to know what they are lowered on so he can figure out what he wants to put on his own car.

That is what this thread is supposed to be about.

And yes, the OP could very easily get the information he is looking for by viewing the Appearance/Cosmetic section. When he finds a ride height he likes, ask the owner what it's on.

And that would open him up to more cars than just the few that will get posted here. Not to mention, this thread really isn't tech.

Even though I agree with you, I still think that if people don't get corrected and the newbies read this info and try searching for more info with the wrong info they won't find much. Details are important IMO. I agree with you though, that hijacking a thread is not nice. I just think that if one member who knows what they're talking about corrected the guy so that others reading the thread would know right from wrong, then it's alright.

I only corrected after I saw information continually posted wrong and then the other information was correct, but not complete.

It'd probably work better if instead we just linked to another thread that goes over it though.

In fact, I just wrote up a thread for this section that only goes over the chassis covered by this forum section. This way we can now just link it and be done with it.

again, not to stray away from the original point of this thread, and my intentions weren't to thread hi-jack but to educate to help reduce the ignorance, for such reasons as stated in my example. not sure how it got so blown out of proportion, and why people took offense to CORRECT information rather than the total dumb-asserey going on here.

In regards to the body being respective to the "EK" (again, which one?), well, it isn't. Sure, the front end may be, to a degree. You can call your car an EM1, it's a real EM1. A local kid around here is trying to pass his vogue silver metallic EJ8 as an EM1, even had it listed on craigslist and his myspace as such. Aside from it obviously being VSM and not MR, EBP, or FBP it has ebay "type R" lips on it, and a d16y8. Same kid has his 5th gen hatch branded as an EG6, and yet oddly enough the steering wheel is on the left side. Do you want to be THAT guy?

I personally don't care as far as making corrections just for fun or because i'm bored, but because it's confusing sometimes. Not that this thread was confusing, but it was a perfect oppurtunity to spread some mass understanding. But then again, this is honda tech and for every ignorant 16 year old you correct, 5 more sign up the same day.

In retrospect, this is how the thread should have gone.

OP: Post pics of lowered EK coupes.
then...
no replies, no pictures, no nothing. because they don't exist.

EK is used to refer to 1996-2000 Civics in general (coupes, hatches and sedans). So "EK coupe" is pretty damn easy to figure out even if it's not technically correct.

Asking for photos of "EK coupes" is a world of difference from trying to sell an EX as an Si.

You're splitting hairs and it's really solving nothing. The correct information has been posted. The OP (and others) has been educated on it.

Now let's post photos or contribute to the conversation (along the lines of lowered '96-'00 Civics) or leave.

A coupe with an exhaust manifold without any holes or gouges in it? A coupe with LCAs that aren't rubbed raw along the bottom? A coupe with a front lip that isn't torn to shreds or cracked? A coupe with an axle back without any scrapes all along the bottom of the pipe or canister?
