Look what I have had commisioned (NEW ROTA)

Re: Look what I have had commisioned (NEW ROTA)
As far as volk coming up with these wheels ... hmm well I guess we'll never know because THEY WON'T MAKE A BLATANT NO HIDING ATTEMPT TO COPY.
I asked this before and did not get answers from pro-rota people. So I guess I'll ask again. What watches, shoes, shirt, pants, sunglasses etc. are you wearing? When you are walking down the street and you see a girl with a fake Guccini bag, what do you think?

Why would we run out of reasons when one of the main reasons still floats? That reason is not the price or quality btw, so no need to throw out the "I don't want to pay XXX for my car that is worth XXX or all wheels bend baloney ****"

Re: Look what I have had commisioned (NEW ROTA)
It seems to me that you're thinking on an entirely different scale. Buying a $30 shirt as opposed to it's $20 wal-mart counter-part is alot different than saving $2,000 bucks on a set of wheels for your car. Buying name-brand clothes is much easier than buying high-end wheels. And that concludes my .02 cents.

Re: Look what I have had commisioned (NEW ROTA)
These Rotas are better in every single way to the original wheel except for "originality." And in contemporary society, originality is such a vague concept that it doesn't even matter. Did anyone give crap to Enkei for ripping off the old Hartge wheel when they designed the ITR wheel? Doubtful. Get off your Rota hating high horse and look at the wheel for what it is.

hmm, if their "fake" apparel was a reissue of something that hasn't been made in years, and it was lighter, available in several different sizes that tailored to the individual, and much cheaper, then yeah, I would give them a high five for being a smart consumer instead of a blind lemming.

For the record I am referring to Rota in general NOT JUST THIS WHEEL so how about you bring your judgment to the other 100x wheel models they carry?
Lol .. and high horse? See there you go again. Did I ever make a point of how cheap rotas are? Since i DID NOT, how am I riding on a high horse? How about you look at the company for what it is and how retarded it is that you support a company like that, but I KNOW you think otherwise when looking at other companies who DO THE SAME in different industries.
Oh btw, about Enkei. Last I checked Rota's ENTIRE line-up were replicas. What do you say about that? Was that hartage wheel a very popular current wheel when Enkei copied it and did you even know about the Hartage wheel back then?

Re: Look what I have had commisioned (NEW ROTA)
So those fake apparels have sizes worse then normal brands? How many different sizes of shirts/purses/watches do you want that will "tailor" to what your needs are? What an XMXL? So that is the argument now? At first the argument was that "they do the same job" so why not? Now it is that they make better offsets so we can now ignore the copying/replicating aspect of the company's business ethics? Oh and yea it is much cheaper so you can throw that out.

Get over yourself. Your straw man and red herring arguments are lame--you are straying very far from the point. I don't care what you think about Rota in general, that's a whole different ball of wax that is straying off topic. This thread is about these wheels, and so far no one has put up any compelling arguments against them--and "they aren't an original design" is an extremely weak argument.

Re: Look what I have had commisioned (NEW ROTA)
These new Rotas are cheaper, lighter, use conical lugnuts, and are more readily available and in different sizes than the original. In short, they are BETTER WHEELS.

Generic pills? Well does Walgreen pills make their packaging to mimic (think 99.9%) that of Tylenol? I mean because everyone is saying wheels are wheels right? Except in Rota's case it is that they make their wheels LOOK 99.9% like other models. Again this is directed to Rota's line-up. Not the way the materials are made of, the costs of the product, and or the way it performs. You realize those patents expiring allows for you to product very similar products but not make it LOOK like other brands right?
Can you honestly tell me you think the same exact way when you see other replicas? What do you think about those China cars that look like benz. Or how about Hyundai before they started making their own designs? I have a sense that you probably didn't think highly of them ... now why is that?
It is amazing why so many people think what they do is fine on the business ethic scale. We are talking about not making our "OWN" product here, but just a complete line-up of copies. An entire company sitting back and just copying designs that are popular. An entire company who don't really make their own product, but just knock-offs of others. Think again China car brand that mimic benz and bmw etc. Yet the very same people who think Rota is fine by replicating design, will think differently if they see some dude wearing a faulex watch. I'm sure when you guys saw those China cars you thought wtf that is lame. So why is it different for Rota?
Sorry hushy for continuing going off-topic.

Re: Look what I have had commisioned (NEW ROTA)
this is getting stupid lol. your opinion has nothing to do with me/my car/my wallet, what it comes down to is, if you like the rim. if you do, hey..go put em on your car, if not, dont put em on and stfu

Re: Look what I have had commisioned (NEW ROTA)
But you're right it is stupid because opinions are just opinions. With that said GO DODGERS.

Re: Look what I have had commisioned (NEW ROTA)
So you bring up all the other wheels Rota have ever copied.
Rota are steering towards original wheels, which is a good thing
I have my own original design in production at Rota as we speak..
What will you say then? - 'well rota used to copy wheels so they are ****?' lol
Love the way that if all the JDM manufacturers basically rip off each other designs, no-one comments..
Take the Sparco NsII - work made a wheel basically identical, as did Rays, as did Enkei.
But they are JDM as hell so..

So you cant win your arguement with this wheel, as its more an evolution of the ITR wheel.

For some weird reasons you guys still think all of us anti-Rota people hate because its not JDM or some because it's cheap. When will you people understand it is still the way they do business not because its not JDM and expensive and crap. Get over that already.
BTW which models are you referring to that resemble the NS-II. I can't picture it at the top of my head. I have to also ask when you do see each model do you think right away that it is "Work" or "Rays" or Sparco"? Or do you think right away "Copy of XXX". Do you see the friggin difference? Wheel designs are not unlimited, but companies take a design (for example a mesh) and they twist it with their own design to make it their design instead of just copying it 99.9% directly (and move the lug hole location). So I asked again why couldn't Rota do that?
I'm responding to the dude that was referring to the prescriptions and how when the patents expire generics can be made. So I'm not sure what you're asking.
