i was painting and a hater unplugged my compressor
I'm painting my car in the garage. This is my first time painting a car as well.
Yesterday while painting some trim pieces someone with a sensitive nose unplugged the compressor and said "your project is done" and "that needs to get finished somewhere else".
When i resume my painting, can i just continue to coat these parts or do they need to be stripped and prepped again?
I'm also using a metallic paint. Got the hang of the gun and was wondering if there's a certain way to spray metallic paint. Is side to side good or do i need to go up and down as well?
Thanks h-t.

Meh, regardless, they need a kick in the junk.</TD></TR></TABLE>
If it was a neighbor or something, I would have raised hell.
Other than that...I have no clue about the paint.
Good luck!

Yeah some soundproofing seems like a good plan.
Or if it was someone at your house, parents etc, then just work while they are out of the house. buy em some movie tickets or something.
If it was a neighbor, tell em to get stuffed, you can do whatever the crap you want unless its too late and a noise ordinance is then in affect.

Make you you wipe it down with some prep all or some other grease remover. Depending on the paint you mine as well wetsand and respray it. If it was my neighbor I would move the compressor outside. They have no business doing that. But if it was your parents, just do it when they aren't there or something.

Re: (MonkeyPuzzle)
i paint car as well.
u have to prep them again. (sry that sucks)
side to side is the best.
looks like a pretty good job for the first time.
at least they didnt call the police on you.
someone live nextdoor turn me in, they call the police and i got a $2500 ticket man
so be very careful if u want to paint in your garage.
i suggest on in a paint booth. it's not that exspensive to rent one.
and it will be a lot cleaner !

did he not like the noise of the compressor, or the smell of the paint? You live in florida, must have pissed off some old retired bastard
either way, i dont know about laws where you live but most places you have until 11pm until its considered disturbing the peace. So resume your painting as usual tomorrow

thanks. my garage is cleaner that the local paint production shop. walls and floor are covered with plastic, before each spray session the walls and floor get sprayed down wit h20. I've been working on getting some kind of exhaust as well.
the project will resume next week. i made arrangements for her to stay at disneyworld for two days so i can finish the job.
more pics of the project here if anyone's interested.
