my old eg (cx) would bust 3 wheel all the time with no rear swaybar at all. i was running apex N1s 99 spec. set very stiff

Actually its a mix of both. A coil-over set up, with full threaded shock body will only allow a wheel to drop as far as the shock travel. If you get on a high enough bump you get this 3 wheel motion effect.
Now a sway bar torsionally couples the right and left suspensions not allowing the control arm to fall past a certain point.
Its nice to have both

just because you 3 wheel doesn't mean you have a crazy stiff setup.
You probably moved the damper body all the way into the housing, not allowing it to drop.
I 3 wheel every driveway like that with my Koni Yellows and 500 lbs springs

Yeah your right my suspension set up isnt that crazy, I should just go back to tokico blues and ground controls
