Re: HID kits--Any brands that are top of the line? (Camelflaj)
the philips 5k is a 4k bulb that has had a blue tint to the bulb so that it has the color output of the 5k. So it still is a philips bulb. Just because it has a blue tint on it doesnt mean its not a philips bulb!
thats my opinion!

Re: HID kits--Any brands that are top of the line? (CIVIC dude)
here are some of my pics from the HID kit I just bought. they came today. 4100k pure white with no yellow at all. when they first warm up they have a slight blue to them.
very sharp cut off also. I have a integra JDM front projector non HID housing but still has a very sharp cut off. looks sharper but I forgot to turn off the fogs.
my garage is very messy right now so please excuse it

Re: HID kits--Any brands that are top of the line? (shipsaeki)
I have a question for Civic Dude or anyone that knows,
In all the pics I have seen of your(civic dude) car with the 4100k kit, the light looks to have a strong yellow tint, basically same as halogen to it. Now, the pics of a 4100k kit that shipsaeki posted look much different (better) because they have no yellow whatsoever, and have a very nice pure white color.
Is this the difference between having projectors and not?
I ask this cause I have a civic and don't want projectors, I want to keep the stock housings, and am looking into an HID kit. I can't decide what to go with cause I don't want it to have any yellow whatsoever, the same way shipsaeki's are, but I don't want it to go the other way either and be very strong blue/purple tint. A small tint on the very edges is fine, but I want mostly white.
What would you recommend? thanks.

I heard that projectors do make a difference. However, it may be just because civicdude took that shot at a slight angle. If he takes it from the front I pretty sure you will see it is white. also, different cameras all have different settings. I've seen plenty of civics with 4300K that are pure white. Only time they seem a little yellow is during the day.

ive got a set of Catz 4300k on my car... when taking pics at certain angles at the headlights... the pics tend to have a bit of yellow tint to them like this pic of my car
but at another angle its pure white
and a pic of the lights shooting against a garage door... they are also pure white
well what counts is how it lights up the road (white) not how people look at them head on...

Please do realize the camera i have is a basic $100 digi cam. its abasic point and shoot camera with no control of flash or antything like that.
I will hopefully have betterpics by next week! My friend has a great camera that im going to use for updated pics!
The 4k kit is a bright white light. From inside the car i was next a car with oem hids and the color output on the road was the same.

Very competitive pricing with catz and other kits and its comprised of Philips bulbs and ballasts, not to mention it comes with a legititmate 1 year warranty and a complete wire harness to ensure a plug and play install!

Re: (Soundwave)
what tempature does audi use on the newer wagons?
or on the bmw suv?
must be close to 7000
They all use 4K series.
I know it appears to be Blue/purple but that's the projector's cutoff shield that doing it.

Re: (EL'ation)
I don't understand why people are so concerned about the color of the HID light. So what if there's a slight yellow look, know that you're getting the MOST light with 4100-4300K.

Re: (PatrickGSR94)
Thanks guys.
Civic Dude,
I saw your post on ClubSi about the 4100k hi/low kit and that was why I said that they pretty much appeared to have a yellowish color. I saw your car next to the mercedes with halogen, and they looked the same, and then next to you was the dude with the integra with a 6000k kit and his looked much better, even for output on the road, it looked better. Maybe that's just me, or just the camera once again, but there was a definate difference on the road.
So, do you like your 4100k kit better than the other guy's 6000k kit?
And, the reason I care about the color it puts out is because I would prefer to have a pure white output on the road as opposed to a yellow tinted output, because I don't like the way it looks and I can personally see better with the pure white light over the color of halogen. So I am asking about his car cause it would be very similar to what I have, stock 92 civic headlights, and I would be using the same exact kit, so I want to know why it looks yellowish, that's all.
It would probably help most to just see them in person, but no one around where I live can afford that kind of stuff.
Hopefully you can get some better pics up of your car Frank, that would be awesome.
Thanks for the replies.

SNOOPY1:
The pics were taken with a cheap $100 digi cam.
it was all that i had that night and i was excited to get pics!
i will have new pics this weekend.
The colour output is bright white. they do not look yellow in person at all!!!
I prefer the 4k over the 6k the light output is white not purply/blue.
a friend of mine has some pics of the kit im going to email him now to send them to me and i will post them up as soon as i get them plus get updated pics!
