IMO, it's not.
Since it's there for a purpose, to put out fires. But mounting it somewhere for everyone to see just for looks just so your car screams out, "LOLZ I GOTS A FIRE EXTINGUISHER IN THE CARZZ!!" then I guess it's rice, not rice but more like stupidity.

When I broke a fuel line and my engine bay almost caught on fire, worrying about whether people would say I'm "rice" wasn't really a priority. It's a good thing to have in your car, if not for yourself, for another motorist that may have an emergency on the road. It doesn't need to be displayed for the world to see, you can mount it securely, and out of sight.

i keep them in my trunk with the spare tire.
all it takes is a fuel injector/fuel rail/fuel line/fuel related o-rings to spring a leak and thats that.
no its not rice.
if its the passenger pillar yes it is

I will have one in my steet driven / occasional track car at all times. Too much $$$ and time in my car to let it go down in flames. The extinguisher will be strapped to the roll bar.
Those who have the little bs extinguishers and mount them to the pillars are ricers IMO

If you've got it on the A-pillar of a stock car then it's rice. But it's for safety - you never know.
BTW in some european countries it's mandatory by law to have a fire extinguisher in your car at all times. It's a hefty fine if you don't.

Re: Is having a fire extinguisher in your car RICE??? (james p.)
carbed cars should carry a fire extinguisher always and doenst hurt to keep one in a EFI car either. If its one of those A pillar extinguishers yes its rice, if its a proper certified one in a trunk etc. Its ok.

Re: (dc2go)
if you have a car modified to the point where some freak thing going wrong could start a fire(like oil lines on a turbo) then fire extinguisher would eb a nice thing to have in the trunk
but not on the passenger pillar

if it were neccassary to have a fire extinguisher in the vehicle then im sure honda would have provided one from the factory. i see dumasses show it off mounted to the pillar on the all stock 92 accord wagons...gay...rice.its like throwing a 5 point takata harness on a geo metro for dd.
