Re: Flat Black?
The car as of current:

That is the good side of the car...the other side isnt so good. It was wrecked prior to me buying it and they did the whole bondo fill thing and it looks wavey. The rust is also starting over the rear wheels wells as all hondas do. So I ahve a drivers side door and want to get the rust fixed so flat black would be the next step.

Why do you want to spend more money to paint it?

Re: Flat Black?
I hate flat black on most cars. I think it is just a cop out for not doing things the right way.
That being said, Satin NOT flat black would look better. However If I was u, I would get a proper "gloss" paint job. Not a fan of flat black or satin on Honda's/Acura's. That SLR looks killer, which surprises me because I don't usually like flat/satin paint on modern cars. I LOVE satin on Hot Rods, though.
Read what you just quoted and your question will be answered.

Your paint is fine.

Flat can look good, if done right. Just dont expect it to stand up to wear like a gloss job.
Even if you throw down a base coat and flat clear, you can still scratch it with your finger nails.
My first flat job was Krylon black, bought in a quart, sprayed on with a gun:
Next was Satin Brown(rustoleum mix), sprayed on with a gun:
They Krylon flat tan, sprayed from a can:
And now, its been sprayed professionally using Hot Rod Flatz, like a year ago and I havent put it back together yet. haha:
^^excuse the dust and f*cking kitty prints!

Re: Flat Black?
My buddy is still all over me about getting the car painted. I am starting to have some rust issues and need to start moving quickly. There is the usual rear quarter rust and there is even some on the molding that runs horizontally between the door and rear quarter (that little 12" strip) and it is causing that molding to bubble off. The thing that is delaying me on this project is that the wife and I just bought her a TL and we don't wanna go dropping $500 just yet...but rust doesn't wait for me.....

Re: Flat Black?
I really like the satin colors but I know they hard to maintain... problem being when you touch it your skin oil will make it shiny and also when you rub it with a cloth after washing.
