fixie bike inside (non-honda)
***i really have no idea where to put this***
i doubt there are many SS, and for that matter fixed gear bikers on here. but i very recently got into it and love it. i was initially drawn to it because in a way, it is a less expensive form of what i enjoy about hondas, they are clean and simple. being on a college budget it is much easier for me to build a couple hundred dollar bike than a honda, at least the way i want to. so enough with the jabbering, if you know what this is, i hope you enjoy it. if you dont, well, i hope you still enjoy it

no, its a road bike for me. i may put a front brake on but i am not sure yet. since it is fixed, you can slow yourself down and stop yourself with out breaks. so far i really havent needed them, but i am also not an idiot, so if i do i will put them on

no gears because the area you ride in is pretty much flat. also on top of that you have a gear ratio that is very mild. you can climb hills with it, but at the same time you can still go pretty good on the flats.
there are no breaks because the chain ring(connected to the pedals) is directly connected to the gear on the rear wheel. in other words, if you pedal backward the bike goes backwards. so you can slow/stop yourself by regulating the pedals.
^^^^ thats sick man

Re: (ECAhatch)
I've got a Peugeot bike that I got for 30 bucks, I painted the same color, its supposed to be my fixie project but the rear end was quick release and it kept slipping so I tried pushing it with my foot and it broke. So I guess I'm gonna buy a legit fixed rear wheel. I'd post pics but its embarrassing. Yours is super clean, exactly what I want mine to look like.

mine is quick release in the back.
but it seems to work fine... for now anyway.
i will be getting a new flip flop wheel set in the next few weeks. i just wanted to get it rolling. good luck with your project
