Ferrari 456GT at the house...*56K ok*
My brother-in-law just recently had his Ferrari 456GT delivered to him in replacement of his totaled Ferrari 348 Challenge car. He swung by the house this weekend so I took some pictures and a test drive. I never got around to driving his 348, so I couldn't really compare, but the 12-cylinder 456GT sounds pretty nice and has a different note to the V8 of the 348. I got on it full throttle and it didn't come close to feeling as fast as other cars I've been in, but the torque really throws you back in the seat and the sound of the 12-cylinder with a Tubi exhaust was intense! Took me a couple of minutes on the road to get used to the gated shifter since this was my first time driving a Ferrari, hehe. Brakes were awful though! Mushy, unresponsive and bad at bringing all the action to a halt, but he's thinking bleeding the brakes may improve their feel. I'm not a big Ferrari fan, but the car actually looks pretty nice for a grand touring car Sorry for the crappy pix, camera was dying and I suck at taking pictures anyway:

Try driving a Ferrari 360 Modena. Very responsive, fast, brakes were excellent and a true head turner. My uncle rips his car up. He won't let me drive his Ferrari, but hey, he did let me drive his 911 Porsche Turbo. Consider yourself very lucky.

I agree. Looks are a little soft and dare I say german? Maybe its your pics. A new set of wheels would do that car justice.

He works as a consultant. I guess most people would be surprised, but many used Ferraris are actually rather affordable. It's the maintenance costs that you have to brace yourself for! I agree, the car looks rather simple for a Ferrari. I gave him a hard time when he had the 348 because I likened it to a Pontiac Fiero in regards to styling. I told him the 456's front end looks like a Ford Probe because, well, it does. I like the rear end though.

He's planning on getting some 19" HRE's or Kinesis wheels. The car should look much better after putting those are on...
