Not sure which is more disturbing...painting an engine like that...or using the word "pretty" while referring to an engine (or anything other than a female, really)...

i like the vacuum line, i put whole minutes into getting it faded like that. black to green. It looks almost as good as my fuel injectors.
I am thinking about redoing the throttle wheel and spring black for some more contrast.
As to the rest of you, you don't even know what trolls are, do you?

Well, either you're oblivious... or you're just trying to prolong a troll to see how many people you can irritate. Either way, asking for opinions on a project that you CLEARLY didn't make any effort to do properly... really shows no tact.

Apparently you don't realize what happens to the paint you put on those places "other people probably wouldn't". Its going to crack, peel, discolor, and fade. And the best part about it, is that its going to be near impossible to keep clean. So all that "hard work" you spent painting things... will end up making the engine look worse. Although, with its current state... it may actually be an improvement. Did you even prep the surfaces you painted? Because you have all sorts of paint flaws going on there.

Sanded everything, cleaned it with acetone. I'm probably gonna detail the engine reguarly too. If the hoses peel it's fine, i've been thinking about trying to dye one of the sets I've got to see if that works better.
It's my first time painting an engine so if some things don't work, i'll try something else. Like you said matt, time will tell what doesn't work and then i'll try something new.

To each his own. He wants to paint his engine green? let him do so lol. Do I like it? not at all, but I'm not trying to bash him or talk smack.

op asks for our opinion, gets mad when we state it. Others get mad when we say its bad when he asked our opinion and we give it.
Yup classic forum schenanigans
I'd have liked it had you had the patience to tape off the lines. Don't expect people to like your work when their 2 year old can do a better spray good.

Damn i thought this was a serious thread at first, then i thought it was a joke, now idk what to think.
If you applied the time and patience to everything as you did with masking the injectors, it would last longer and look better.
Looks like you didnt even paint under the oil cap.

Re: Do you think this is pretty? or nah?
I was having fun at first but after spending a combined fourty five minutes masking and unmasking and remasking and spraying and spraying the injectors I honestly got bored of the paint project.
There's plenty of imperfections, but without close inspection it looks great (beauty is in the eye of the beholder) and i'm happy with my engine paint job. If I get my motivation back before I put the engine in i'll spend a few hours making everything perfect. I haven't even sanded the trans yet and since I want to paint that too, i'm saving what little effort I still wish to exert.
