If you don't get your hood cleared, it will fade in a few months if you park it outside at all. The stupidest thing I've bought for my car is my carbon fiber hood. It flaps around on the highway and the latch has cracked the gelcoat on the outside of the hood. Needless to say it is black and my car is red, so.... I get the "why do you have a black hood?" comment from people all the time.
