All in a days work. cleaned up, blown up CRX and a vw
Since Saturday was such a nice day I decided to wax my 4th gen lude.
A Little close pulling in the driveway.
down to my boys (ej1_coupe) house where the fun happened
we were going to help out a buddy with a GTI lower his car, until we found out you need some special tool to remove the strut....only a ****** VW
so instead we took ej1_coupe's project crx and blew it up since it had a rod knock
Link to video of the CRX blowing up(you can hear the piece hit the ground just listen closely
http://vids.myspace.com/index....1&n=2
here is the piece that broke off the block and the hole

Blowing stuff up is always fun.
By the way, what special tool is needed for the VW? I installed some suspension on an older GTI [that year I guess] and didn't need anything, hmm.

Re: All in a days work. cleaned up, blown up CRX and a vw (teamlegacy)
it was some socket for the top nut on the strut tower, the bennet(i think thats the VW manual like the helms) said it in it. I forget, the post he printed off VWvortex just called it a strut top socket which I know isnt what its called. but the strut would just spin without loosening, it looked sorta like a slotted socket. o well his buddy from vwvortex is going to do it for him
its only needed for the base suspension, this is a 2.0 gti i think that vr6 and 1.8t gtis have a dif suspension and dont need it? I'm not sure

haha sure did, nothing a little kitty litter and power washer won't fix though.
Blowing up the crx was fun, made my girl a little happy because she HATES the car, and I gave her a piece of the block as a rememberance to what she will be driving around in when I feel like throwing the next motor in.
The crx is NOT for sale, as of yet. I kinda want to keep it to get through the winter, or unless someone wants to trade for it?
Thanks for the comments on my coupe
