Dude don’t try to pull that card. One of my little brothers is the only person in our six person family who doesn’t drive a Chevy (he’s got a 01 Ford F150), and all of our cars run great. My daily driver is a 95 Blazer it’s got 165k on the odometer, my mom’s Suburban has got 200+, my dad’s old truck was 200 +, my brother’s old pickup was sitting at 250+ when it was sold. All it comes down to is basic maintenance. If you take care of anything it’ll treat you great and run forever.

The Cobalt is an awesome platform to build upon. It’s got awesome factory support from GM (something that Honda severely lacks), it’s very reasonably priced compared to other cars that are in its class, and the after market support is already there. Instead of saying that a car is trash because it doesn’t have a Honda badge on it you people need to open your eyes and realize that there are some awesome compact cars out there that are not built by Honda.

Read my post and go ahead and explain how that 10 Best motors of 2006 list is "ownage." Not to mention...10 Best according to...Wards?

No no actually, my apologies, you're right- GM is losing billions of dollars a year and their cars have some of the lowest resale values on the market because their mechanicals are feats of performance and engineering. </TD></TR></TABLE>
The irony is you saying,
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">but if you wanna try to convince anyone that GMs are well engineered, you're in the wrong place</TD></TR></TABLE>
than him posting a link praising the new cobalt ss engine as winning a spot in a top ten category of "sophisticated new technology".

"General Motors Corp. rings in with two winners of 10 Best Engines awards. GM makes serious inroads into the affordable performance market with its thrilling 2L supercharged DOHC I-4 used in the Cobalt SS performance coupe.

Thanks to supercharging and intelligent design, GM engineers squeeze more than 100 hp per liter from their 4-cyl. dynamo, while achieving a 23/29 city/highway fuel economy (10/8 L/100 km) rating from the Environmental Protection Agency"

Sounds deserving of the word owned to me.

i love all the people that bash a car about how long the car will last. that car hasnt been out long enough for anyone to know yet.

also, how are you to compare pricing with these cars with hondas. if you bought your honda brand new and started modding it, it would be the same types of prices.

and how are you gonna insult a car youve never ******* driven?

to the haters. go drive one and see if you like it before looking at pictures of it and criticizing.

I like arguing with non-Honda people on a HONDA board. It's pretty fun even though their oppinions are "my car rules, everyone else's Honda is a weak, slow piece of crap"

WHEN did i say a honda was a slow piece of crap, this entire thread i have been defending my car, not as the best car in the entire world, but as a competitor that exceeds in some areas and falls back in others

SOUTHFIELD, MI – The winners of Ward's 10 Best Engines awards for 2006 demonstrate U.S. auto consumers still can have it all: Many of the winning engines highlight sophisticated new technology that generates exhilarating performance – but also improves fuel economy.

Reason it's a best of 2006 is new designs for fuel economy and performance. Doesn't mean it's a legend. VTEC is a legend. Your junk supercharged Cobalt isn't impressive. Yes it feels fast due to displacement and supercharger for low end torque but doesn't mean it is fast

Didn't you see the link eariler in this thread that showed how the cobalt walked over some serious japanese competition including many s2000's, 2000 GTR, 04 evo 8......how can you honestly not give this car some credit and face the fact that it is a great performing car and doesn't just "feel fast"????

my ex gf had this car.. it wasnt the SS but damn the alternator shut out after 3000km.. After that she had a couple small recalls but nothin major..

I got to drive it a couple times.. interior looked decent and the system pounded.. but like alot of others mentioned, it lacks amazin looks.. Speed i could care less, im not a hardcore racer i do up my car to my personal standard..

to u for having the ***** to post this car on HT..

maybe once u slam it and put some decent rims on it will look pretty good.. imo u should paint ur headlight housing it will look alot better.

or maybe you should sell it and buy something that doesn't look like it was made by matell, feel like it was put together with krazy glue and dollar store pastic, and drive like a modified golf cart. ..oh yeah and why don't you post on chevy-tech or something instead of arguing with people about why you wasted money on a honda forum?

Is your name "1nf3ct3d" because your car looks like an infected anus? The Cobalt looks a hell of a lot better than the disgusting bodykit and altezza tail lights your car sports, and this is coming from a Honda owner. Way to ruin a Lude. *slow clap*

Here's a better pic of the SS. With a nice drop it would look much better though.
