"The type R handled way better and much faster"
Which type r?
"Dude, I saw this show, and a bunch of Civics were racing, and the one Civic was totally faster than the other Civics man...it was sweet"
^---That's you.
I believe you're referring to Top Gear.

I had heard 201 UK-style HP, if that's worth anything.
It'd be even worse if we tried to sell them over here.
The rear suspension, like that of the Fit/Jazz, was done for cargo space. Suspension design for interior space does not a performance car make.
Where you're going to prefer to have the EP3 CTR is on rougher tracks, or on a track where you will have to bounce over a gater for the fastest line.
The DC2 ITR is better than the EP3 CTR for this, but the EP3 CTR is better than the FN2 CTR for this.
Our cars have to be homologated, so let's face it, we just have to race whatever Honda gives us. But if we all still had a choice, we'd probably still prefer to be in a 250 HP DC2 ITR.

Horsepower ratings differ from region to region. I believe Europe runs off of the DIN, PS, kW, while the US uses the SAE method which yields lower than most other conventions out there.

I don't mean to appear to directly contradict you, and I am sure that you know what you are talking about, but I am not sure you meant to completely discredit the fact that there are substantial cost savings involved with making a rear suspension like that instead of the usual more complicated Honda rear suspension.
Cost savings are very important to a manufacturer though.
Heck, strut based cars are both cheaper to produce and service, and have less moving parts to wear out and need replacement, than a double wishbone design. Its a win-win for the manufacturer and most customers. I imagine that the twist-beam / torsion-beam is even cheaper, and possibly more durable, than struts, making it even more of a win-win.
So I'll rephrase:
Suspensions designed for cargo space and cost reduction, do not a Type-R make.
George Knighton has the gift of good communication skills. If I expressed to someone what he did here, I would have ended up offending the other person.

It is this same skill that can issue a cleverly disguise and deliver an insult without notice. That is why GK is the top dog.

Cosmetics are subjective. I'm a fan of the "hot hatch" look. But most of America seems to dislike it.
However, the important points seem to have been overlooked by everyone discussing the looks. Holy crap are those things expensive for what you get.

And while it is lacking technically correct modern grammar, the overall structure of "does not a [fill in blank] make", it is not uncommon. The original saying is "one swallow does not a summer make", if my memory serves.
Why are we discussing your reading comprehension failure, and not the car this thread is about?

Speak (or type) in proper modern english. Otherwise, you look like a tool. /discussion
