I owned that Type R for only a few days, haha. Luckily the auto salesman I was dealing with was out of town since it was Christmas, so he didn't sign the last of the paperwork. He arranged for the other employees to hand over the keys since he figured he'd have me come back after his vacation to finish the paperwork. So during that time the Type R was in my possession, I noticed all these little odds and ends that just started to irk me after the initial 'omg i got a new car' feeling wore off. The '97 R was a stolen recovery. It was stripped, so it was replaced with a motor from an '00 or '01 R, leather interior from a '00 GS-R, rims from a '00 R, and an Acura emblem painted red. The car would rattle and vibrate as if all the interior panels weren't installed properly, the odometer was rolled back (to match the mileage of the new motor), door dings, touch-up paint throughout, a scratch under the wing, and a sinking brake pedal. The brake pedal would practically be floored before you could feel the brakes being applied. This happened despite new brake pads and a full reservoir.
When he came back from vacation, I returned the car and keys and gave back the paperwork. He was cool about it though, since I bought my hatchback from that place some 5 years prior, and he was the one who closed the sale. He also still had a bunch of people calling and stopping by who were interested in the R so it wasn't even a big deal to him when I returned it.
