it really is takata green if seen in person. the picture was taken with a flash and the levels were edited in photoshop. I'll see if I can get a better picture of the color but I had a shop specifically match it to the harness and if held side by side, they really are nearly identical

may i ask how you guys cut out your deisgns w/ tape with out cutting through the orginal paint down to the metal? just real light cutting?

Redid mine today had a paint issue on the front so I fixed it with some extra carbon vinyl I had. Look OK but I don't care I'm tired of painting it. (5th time is it.)

yes. use an exacto knife, you can get very precise with your cuts

Just a few quick q's about painting valve covers.
1. Do you need to use some sort of high temp primer? Have any of you guys painted with normal primer? How did it handle the heat?
2. I see alot of different colours you guys are using, colours that would be imposible to find in high temp (camelion paint, metal flake etc.). How do regular non-high temp paints fair on the valve cover?
I want to do a desert camo design, but as you can imagine its imposible to find suitable colours in hi-temp paint over here in Australia, will regular paint last??
