Default J35Y1: Various Intake Mods

Ladies and Gents,

I have a '13 V6 Coupe J35Y1. Ive been researching a few intake modifications but I am a little overwhelmed by all the mix and matchings of parts from various years and models. I was wondering if you could help me with a few things...

1. I know how to port and polish generally, but I was curious if there was any specifics I should know before I start?
a. Any special tools you guys recommend? I have polished firearms and motorcycles before with a lot of elbow grease and wet sand paper, but didnt know if there was anything easier for car parts.
b. Any parts I should focus my polishing on? Or parts I shouldn't polish?

2. I generally hear about a few things when it comes to intake mods. Can you help to tell me which ones do what, and if its worth it>
a. TB spacer? I heard it just shifts the torque curve. Is this really worth it? From the research Ive done, it sounds like this is actually designed to help older carburetor cars and cars that mix the fuel pre-cylinder. Your thoughts?
b. Ported and polished intake runners? Can I do myself? After market alternatives? Is this mod really worth it?
c. Intake manifold spacer? Im guessing this has a similar property to the TB spacer. Similar questions above.
d. Intake parts from other years and model that bolt up to the J35 motor? Larger intake manifold? various intake runners from other vehicles, other?

I have researched a few of these questions but couldn't find solid clear information. I was hoping to put a thread together to bring all the details into one area for readers like myself.

Thanks in advance for the help.

No skills, don't attempt to do it yourself.
I can tell by the questions you ask you have no idea what you are doing. leave your car alone or leave the modifications to the professionals.

Ouch, Im no Honda tech but Ive done a timing belt on a DOHC legacy, the entire suspension on my 13 accord, Super Charger on a 13 Wrangler and countless street bike, enduro race bikes and custom cruisers. So suck a left ********.

Ive just started to dive into some research and figured you guys could help place the answers in one spot as gentlemen. Im always looking to learn and you guys seem to know more than most pathetic honda forums

I can take educated guesses on what things do. I under stand port and polishing at its basic but I meant in regards to torque and power curves. Do the throttle body spaces only shift curves or add power. Is it worth the shift or does it only really matter on driving styles.

Furthermore Im an electrical engineer by schooling a compliance engineer by trade, and a half certified ASE mechanic but I didn't want to do my internship. Any more wise *** remarks little guy?
