The display screen for the Clock / Stereo / HVAC has gone blank. The radio still works, as does the HVAC, but there''s nothing on the screen. The car is a 2004 Accord EX V6 sedan and is completely stock.

I checked all the fuses and they look good. I disconnected the battery and when I reconnected it and turned the key on, the screen flashed for half a second and then went blank again. I entered my radio code and the radio worked, but still no display.

Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe the backlight dipslay went out

i remember they used to do that... i worked at honda before. they swapped out the face portion of the screen..call honda they have a fix for that issue already.. good luck!

Not correct. Goto a Honda dealer if under 100K miles it will be under warranty. You need a new radio PCB board (Printed Circuit Board)

Yes, there was a warranty extension on the PCB (display). The warranty is for 7 years/100k miles, but even if you are over the mileage, they will still change it free of charge, IMO.

thank you for the correction!! its been awhile since i worked for honda and kinda forgot some of that stuff.... but yeah there is your fix!

Had same problem. My '04 has 36k but is 8+ years old. Dealer said warrenty was no longer available. Given the age I did not protest. $375 to repair.

Hold CD/AUX button for 10 seconds and you'll have display back on, that's how you turn it off too.
