Wheel Popping Noise after hitting pothole

Wheel Popping Noise after hitting pothole
Okay, so where I live is FILLED with potholes.
I have never been too great at diagnosing front-end noises.
Ever since I hit the pothole, when ever I am coming to a stop, and right after I start accelerating, there is a popping noise coming from the wheel that hit the pothole the hardest (Front Right). It only pops 5 or 6 times, it is almost like a crackling noise.

Re: Wheel Popping Noise after hitting pothole
Im thinking you could be looking at a damaged cv axle joint by what youve described. I would jack up the car on the side, get that wheel in the air, move that wheel in and out side to side to check for play in the wheel bearing, inspect all suspension bushings, check the upper and lower ball joints, tie rod end, strut assembly and the strut tower mount, inspect cv axle boots for wear and look for obvious damage. Very difficult to pin point the issue with such a lack of details. No offense man.

None taken, I haven't had the chance to throw it on a lift. I had a feeling it has to do with a cv joint. I just wanted some input before I look at it

Okay, bringing this back with better detail:
- The noise only happens after I have been driving for a while
- The longer you drive, the worse it gets.
- The noise doesn't happen above 20MPH.
- The noise only happens when I am accelerating from a dead stop, and stopping.
- After driving for a long time, the noise starts to happen when I turn the wheel at slow speeds.
- The vehicle does NOT shake or pull at any speeds.
- The noise is NOT reproduced by shaking the car.
I have taken this vehicle to two mechanics (Dealership and Local Mechanic) and they found NOTHING wrong.

Re: Wheel Popping Noise after hitting pothole
how close is a motor mount to that tire? i had a 95 neon that did the same thing. id change the cv axels and everything associated with them when you can.

Everything is tight, and if you stand beside it while someone is driving forward and backward slowly, it sounds like its coming from right behind the tire
Could it really be a motor mount?
