What year would work the best?
I am having a son and i need to get a car with a backseat beacuase my crx doesn't really have one. i would like to be able to swap a H22 euro accord R or a H22 SiR motor into it, so what year accord would work the best for that. Also if anyone would like to throw their opinion out on which one of the motors is better, please do.

Anywhere from 1994-2002, years 1994-1997 being the easiest, but I cannot vouch for their safety when it comes to possible damage. I however, can vouch for the 1998-2002 Accord sedans, which destroyed the front end of a Suburban that rear-ended me while I only suffered a broken taillight. I would be careful about making the car too fast if you are having a child in there with you though.

ok thanks that helps out a lot. also are the euro accord motor parts harder to find and more exspensive then the SiR's?
And no i would never put my sons life in danger like that .i am not going to do the swap for about a year or two, when i get another car to drive with him in it.

MuffinMan said it the best, the standard h22 will almost be the best bet. If you have the F20b motor, parts will be more difficult to come buy. The h22a7 will be alot easier to buy parts for, since I think that you can use standard h22 parts on it. Also, I think you are making a great decision by planning it out now and having a safe car first. I have a deep respect for safety first.

Don't forget the CB7. 90-93 Accord. Very easy to swap in an H series engine, as well as being easier to find cheap, and it's underestimated and overlooked far too often. I know guys selling nice ones on CB7tuner.com for pretty cheap.
I have a 93 LX CB7 sedan that has 156,xxx miles on it and it still runs strong. (stock F22A1) I do plan to do an engine swap eventually, but not until my funds accumulate. If you do look into one, try to get a 92/93 EX or SE, b/c they came stock with rear disc ABS and have an engine with 20 extra HP, as well as an ECU w/out a speed governor. the SE also has a passenger airbag in the front and leather seats that are nice. Go to http://www.cb7tuner.com and check out some of the peeps rides there. Good Luck!

Re: What year would work the best? (I got the CD5 Jeebies!)
94 97 easiest to drop an h22 full swap and the only thing you need for it to fit is a hasport mount. if you get the full swap then the only work you need to do is the hasport mount, the power steering pump hosing is different and figure out if you want cruise control or not. if you do then you need to make a mount for the bracket to fit the cruise control cable onto. if not then you can use the h22's bracket.

96-97 is OBD2 I am an OBD1`guy..you do not need to get any Hasport kit..use all OEM moutor mounts....either the Accord or all prelude....I do recomend you get polyurethane inserts for the front mount and fill the rear with goop polyurethane..you can buy a tube for 13 bucks at your reigons auto store or w.e

^ you mean all accord mounts and prelude driver side.
id go with a 95, latest year thats obd1. also id rather get a base model h22 and take that extra money you saved from not getting the euro r motor and get type S pistons and cams and pocket the rest of the left over money.
