What year is the BEST for the Accord?
I have enough dough to buy up to a 1995 Accord.
But is the 1990-1993 generation better than the 94-96 gen? I dont want to spend more money on a inferior generation.

no clue, but if thats a concern that could sway your decision that is something that is easily changeable.

Re: (BLUBB2)
go 5th gen. I don't understand how you say you have enough money for any accord up to a 95. I've seen 5th gens going for more than my 6th gen with a lot of mods on it..
Just search around & haggle with people. Go 6th gen 5 spd coupe. BEAUTIFUL car.

That's like asking what age woman you like?
It's a purely subjective topic and after the '94 model year; the technology and the reliablity is there in all of them - so you've got your pick.
I'm partial to the fifth (5th) and sixth (6th) Generation Coupes. Nice clean designs still recognizable as Honda's.
The later versions smack of a european design team effort (VW), and they're starting to bloat. (size creap) and are getting heavier.
But then again. To each his own.....

5th Gen 96-97 myself Not as fond of the 94-95s. But all Accords are nice reliable cars if they have been/are taken car of.
Choose whatever generation Accord you like the looks of. Then find one that has a good maintenance record.

I had my 92 for 12 years (140k miles), and it was hard to believe anything could be better. But my 03 V6 is just more of everything (smoother, more power, more comfort). The 03 has been perfect at 5 1/2 years (60k miles), so if nothing major happens in the next 5 years, I would have to say it's the winner. Many people don't like the 7th gen Accord's looks, but I can't imagine anyone driving it, and not liking it.

The newer the model, the "better" it gets in terms of technology being used, but then again, some people don't want power steering, sunroof, power windows and power locks, cruise control or vtec....
So.. personal preference... that's all.

Re: (gianinline)
well obviously...if you have lets say 3500 and you want to buy a say 91...your probably looking a reliable, fully loaded, pimpin car; flip flop with it being a 91 to being a 94-97(cd5) your gonna end up getting a stock car with your normal rims, no special upgrades...
i would trade 94 accord for a 91 accord coupe anyday, mainly bc i like that body better, but i would also trade my 94 accord for a 94 integra(love the circle lights) or a 94 civic(i love the door handles)
choose your fave body style and shop around

Re: (3x's_Accord)
I have a 96 EX Coupe 2.2l
I bought it for $2k it had 180k..but a broken speedometer, so who knows how many miles were on it. And it seemed to be neglected. Owned by a highschool girl.
intially it had a busted wheel bearing, ripped CV, non working AC, and a bad o2 sensor...all stuff i can fix easily and cheap (nice thing about accords is parts are cheap)
But then the real gremlins came out....a tranny code that wont go away, even after 2 solenoid swaps, a fluid change, and other things. A Oil leak, and now overheating.
but like i said this car was neglected.

Re: What year is the BEST for the Accord? (TheShallot)
The best way is to take what you have and start searching for Accords in that price range. Figure out what you want in the car, and what you plan to do with it. Then pick one from there and roll with it.
Accords from 90-02 have similar features and options. The engines changed slightly, but not by much. Options are very similar as well. When you start getting into the 03+ models, is where you start to have options like navigaion & heated seats.
Just a heads up though, if you are considering a 98-02 V6, do some research about the transmissions. They are known to be on the weak side and tend to randomly go out. That is all I can think of at the moment. Good Luck to you

also if you look into the 95-97 V6 models, they don't make squat for aftermarket parts for them, but I do Love mine, so quiet, and smooth, and pretty quick.
