Weird Noise, Front Right Wheel

Weird Noise, Front Right Wheel
My dads Accord (2002, Auto) is making a weird noise when he shifts from any gear (park or drive) to reverse. He lets it roll back about a foot and there is this slight noise that sounds like something is getting hung up. it almost sounds like the brake caliper takes a second to fully open up when the brake pedal is not being touched. Any idea on what it could be, brake caliper, hub, cv joint, axle, trans?
any help will be greatly appreciated.

check the axle. how is the tranny fluid, old/low. when was the e-braked serviced last. this could cause a slow release. but i doubt if you will hear a noise if the brake caliper itself is faulty. you'll hear the brakes squeal or fell as though they locked up.
