LX's have steel wheels, no sunroof, ABS was an option, and some other things that make up the difference between the EX and LX

Re: weight problems? (HondaSport)
Besides Honda 2 doors and Honda 4 doors have very minimal weight differences between 2 identical grades anyways.
The 6th Gen Accord Coupe EX V6 weighs 3283 and the 6th Gen Accord Sedan EX V6 weighs 3329 a difference of 46 pounds which really isnt that much. All the extra things in the EX surly weigh more than that as the LX coupe weighs in at 3236 a difference of 47 pounds. THat is in the 6th gen and I think there are alot more differences in the 5th gen ex and lx models than in the 6th gen ex and lx models

Re: weight problems? (SOHCArchangel)
One of my buddies has a 90 hatch with a ZC in it. We went on a crazy lightening spree one weekend and completely gutted the car. About the sunroof, we removed the heavy glass sunroof and put in a very lightweight sheet of plexiglass from Home Depot. Granted, this wasn't as strong (thick) as the glass, but the plexiglass was definitly lighter. The carbon fiber seems like a good idea as well

Get rid of the spare. My car has a can of fix-a-flat in its place. Get rid of the underbody heat shields by the way.

dang misa, i havent done half the work you have. whats your car weigh in at? do you know?
the sound deadoning material is the next step, we removed about 30lbs of it from my friends 4th gen coupe. we used my heat gun, but over the competition forum some guys mentioned using dry ice, and saying that it was much easier.
