Vtec Oil Pressure Qustion

Vtec Oil Pressure Qustion
Well I just got my JDM H22 in my 93 Accord. I'm getting a CEL 22 code which is the VTEC oil pressure switch. Now I have heard that the switch does not come with the JDM motors so I am assuming that HMO sent me a USDM p13 ecu. Now.....I was planning on getting a chipped p28 ecu in the near future. Would this solve my problem? I don't want to waste 70 buck on a new switch which is the size of my thumb when I can just go out and get a chipped p28 that doest look for it. Can any one confirm that the chipped p28 doesnt look for it, or that the option can be disabled to look for it. I'm either going to be going with uberdata or hondata.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yes i do have a oil pressure switch the only ones that i know that doesn't have one is the f22b1 engine it only has a vtec solinoid. and yes i done the odb2 to obd1 conversion.

it may be related to the chassis the motor came from, or based on the ECU that ran it, but im not sure.

You definitly need a Haynes manual for both the prelude, and the accord. That will tell you exactly where on the harness each plug is, and where it goes to.

this is the best right up on 5th gen accords i have ever run across, it tells you where what wires go and what plugs to use, and it matches up with what i had to do on my first H22 swap, im in the middle of a second.

alot of people take the prelude harness, and clip good leads on the wires so that you dont have to splice each wire twice on the plugs that need lengthening.
this is a pain, but its alot better than most of the civic swaps!!!
Good luck to ya

to cure the problem here is what you must do;
1) purchase a vtec pressure switch.. (I have a spair that works great for cheap if you want)
2)take the bolt out.. install the presssure switch on the motor
3) run a wire from D6 on the ecu to the switch and ground the switch under the hood
4) drive around with vtec
PS.. there a only a few codes that will limp mode your car and cause the 6500RPM redline.. those being anything vtec.. pressure switch or soleniod.. as well as vehicle speed sensor.. and I think there is one more but I can not remember..
KNOCK will not cause limp mode! nor will no IAB.. these are most common with the swap Also if you throw an 02 code you will not get limp mode either..

Good luck and this is 100% for sure how you correct the problem
