ok so i have a vibration going on with my car when i am driving. it does not occur until i hit about 60 mph, at which point i can feel it a little bit. When i brake i also notice the vibration which can sometimes be really really bad but only above 50 mph. Once i am braking and hit below 50 mph, it stops. I have replaced my axles and i know that my driver side tie rod end boot, that connects it to the steering, is busted. Would this cause this type of vibration, or could it be something else, maybe even a combination of things. Any input is appreciated. THanks.

Sounds to me, if you're breaking and the viberation occurs, It's a warped rotor. Having one can still make your car viberate even when not breaking depending on how bad it is....

I actually have the same problem in my car. Depending on your model of accord, the repair///installation of a new rotor can get pretty pricey.


And yes, the problem you stated can cause it to viberate... driving on it probably isn't going to help it much, but I think having those problems would make the viberation a little more constant than what you stated, thats why I think it's a warped rotor. If you have the chance, try taking off one or both of your front wheel's and check to see if there's any heat damage on it(your rotors). Or, just go get it inspected at meinke or something.

Agree. Warped rotors is likely culprit. If you have warped rotors, as stated, you can have a smaller vibration when not applying the brakes. Warped rotors shake the car similar to a bent wheel.

i know it sounds out there but if its only at high speeds it could be unbalanced tires

Nah man, that's another valid answer. But it would be a noticible unbalanced tire because at the rate of which he was traveling, he'd drift to one side, or another. But still, a valid answer.

its just something small n silly that most people easily overlook and then kick themselves 700-1000 dollars later...so just throwing it out there

Since his description is a little vague on that detail, you might be right.

it's the tie rod. At higher speeds, messed up tie rods cause the shaking. You said you know it's messed up right?
Go get it fixed, it doesn't cost much to get done, around 80 - 90$.
I'm really sure that's your solution..

I had the exact same problem on my Integra. Was warped roters.. Had them turned, and the problem went away.

it's not the rotors, trust me. His main problem occurs without breaking and he even said the tie rod boot is fucked up. It's a given. My car had a messed up tie rod and did the same thing..
