Default V6 engine in 93 Accord?

could it be done? Im thinking about getting a 92-93 Accord EX/SE for a beater, simply because i love the body line of the 92-93 Accord. My definition of beater has to be an automatic, so h22a is not my choice, and plus I can get a complete v6 engine out of a 94+ accord for a fraction of cost of a h22a. Have anyone done this swap before?

with custom mounts made by you maybe. i dont think the nose of the CB7 accord is long enough to hold a v6 but crazier things have been done( i.e. RWD SVT V8 focus)

thanks for your help...and can anyone confirm this? I just want a little extra power for daily beating. What would be your ideal engine for this beater? or perhaps i should just keep it stock or swap in a f22a sohc vtec and call it done? The car im looking at has about 187K , so i think it would be best to throw that old engine away for good.

Just swap a vtec head on yours and convert it to vtec. The c27 is a weak *** motor and your f22 vtec would be faster.

the c series swap is by far one of the most difficult swaps out there. Custom mounts would definitely need to be fabbed. Don't think it's doable but anything can be done with enuff money

ok, so f22 vtec is by far the best choice next to h22a? I dont want to waste too much money on this car since it's going to be my beater, while my project EG will be the money pit. Anyways, i asked questions and got my answers, thanks alot guys.

If you look at a legitimate swap site, these guys are saying that a V6 transplant cannot be done into your accord..... And I personally, have never seen an Accord V6 engine in a 4th gen car.

and a CRX or 92-95 Civic is? I think it would be because there have been pictures of a CRX with a trubo V6 in it and a 92-95 Hatch with a V6.

So I would think it would fit, but is it going to be worth it? I guess that up to how much custom fab work you can do yourself to keep costs down.

I am certain it can be done...but why? That kind of fab work is cost prohibitive. and a C27/2shaft Honda Auto puts down what, 146whp?

Why not just go Junkyard turbo? Sure lag will be an issue with an auto but it doesn't seem to bother 1,000s of Jetta and Passat drivers with 1.8 turbos and Auto.

my accord had 287,332 miles on the motor before i did the h22 swap...i used to beat the **** out of that engine and it WOULD NOT! break..i tried to break the **** and it wouldnt. i ended up doing the h22 swap and now i have that engine in my garage collecting dust ..eventually i'll take it apart and ready it for turbo so it can go into a similar car....but anyways 187,000 miles is nothing ..i have owned 5 hondas(civics and accords) and the all took a beating...just make sure you do the timing belt and a tune up and you should be fine...peace

i was at the junkyard today looking for misc. parts and also closely observing v6 accords as well as legends. the accord had different mounts setup all around different from the transverse 4 cylinder. if you had the next gen body, you could just drill the old brackets off the chassis and get new ones from the dealer. i noticed you would have to add some and some you would have to drill out or not use. you would probably just have to modify them or make your own if you were to pursue this. i was curious about the motor in a hybrid app and was just checking stuff out. i don't think it would be hard at all, if you could weld, fab, and have brains or helms, to do this swap into a accord or prelude chassis (even thought about civic) not originally factory v-6.

thanks for everyone's supports,

I personally dont want to spend too much cash on this car. The reason why i want the c27 because i drove my friend's 97 EX v6 and it sure has some power to pull the heavy accord body around, and i thought it would be an easy swap. However since most of you dont think it's a good idea, and cost-wise, i'd just end my fantasy with the v6 engine here...hehe. Anyways, im still looking for a 92-92 EX AUTO (screw CALI traffics), anyone wanna sell me one?
