Update on hesitation under acceleration

Re: Update on hesitation under acceleration
I had this issue on my 1998 crv with almost 200,000 miles. When the engine was warm it would hesitate and almost stall until the higher rpms kicked in. Then it would run great. I replaced distributor cap and rotor and all issue have gone away. It's a cheap fix for something that was hard for the "professionals" to solve.

Re: Update on hesitation under acceleration
HEY I HAD SIMILAR ISSUE WITH A CUSTOMERS 1997 Acura CL 2.2 L F22B1 VTEC.
JUST TO LET EVERYONE KNOW WHAT MY SOLUTION WAS. IT WAS THE SPARK PLUGS were FOULED OUT/ERODED. NEVER BUY AUTOLITE PLUGS.
I Put in some NGK Platinum plugs and the stumble/hesitation from 1000-3000 RPM while accelerating when away.
My theory is that when the car is using EGR (part throttle accelerating), the fouled out plugs are not providing adequate spark to create combustion causing the stumble misfire.
I spent three - 5 hours diagnosing this car only for it to be the plugs.
Also the EGR Ports were completely plugged besides one but after cleaning them the issue was still present. I also cleaned all the grounding surfaces on the vehicle. The Final solution was replacing the spark plugs.

Re: Update on hesitation under acceleration
If you have hesitation change out air fuel ratio sensor change out. Make sure distributor cap is on tight. Should cure your problems. Mine hesitated same exact symptoms changed the items out and cap was loose fixed issue so far.
