ultra low emission oxygen sensor???
hello
Is is my baby sister's car (really). She had a check engin light on. Dump the code and it said primary oxygen sensor.
Problem is when she went to the dealer looking for the part. They told her she had a ultra low emission honda (california car). The Ultra low emission sensor would be $345 dollars the regular one is about $170. Went to Auto Zone the regular one would be $105, Ultra low would be $225.
My question is you just put the regular sesnor on a ultra low engin.
thanks

The pre Cat or post cat? I know on the precat the sensor is not really an oxygen sensor. the post you can use whatever you want.
The precat has this sensor called "Air/Fuel sensor" This type only occurs with the ULEV cars (F23A4) Though I'm not sure if this is the same as a regular o2 sensor, but that is also another difference from a ULEV engine and a non ULEV engine. Sparkplugs.com has them for $115 for a Denso. OEM replacement.
you said they told her that she had a ULEV/California Accord. Can you confirm this? See on the valve cover, should say ULEV. or even better the engine block itself.
