Transmission will NOT upshift when hit redline
I have a 99 Accord LX 2.3L with Automatic transmission with 120k miles. I just picked it up for my wife and I am going through the maintenance items. I changed the transmission fluid today.
I was doing a test drive today, and so I floored it, it accelerated to the red line, and I felt like I hit the rev limiter, and it wasn't upshifting, so I eased up off the pedal. I tried it a second time, I hit the redline, and sure enough, it was not upshifting. It just stayed there, bouncing off the redline fuel cutoff. After that, my Check engine light started flashing. I drove to the nearest auto store to check the CEL, but they say I have to come back in the morning . When I turn the car back on, the CEL is now constantly on.
The car drives and shifts perfectly normal otherwise. It downshifts when I push the pedal to pick up speed, and it upshifts like normal at other times.
Is it normal to not upshift when I hit the rev limited in these cars?
What could my problem be?

Re: Transmission will NOT upshift when hit redline
The CEL says "Misfire in Cylinder 1". Could it be that the misfire occurs as the car approaches the redline, and it is a misfire that I feel rather than a fuel cut-off?
I changed the spark plugs which were well aged (very well though), but I did not change the wires nor the distributor cap & rotor.

Back probe the TPS and see what the voltage readout is. Have you tried 3/4 throttle?

I disconnected the spark plug wires and hung them with a stretched bungie cord in order to do a compression test on the engine, hanging them (stretched unfortunately) so that they wouldn't spark with metal in the engine bay. I am wondering if one of the wires got a little loose on the distributor cap side.
