Transmission problem with 94 accord
My 94 Honda Accord makes a hesitating noise at about 2,000 RPMs. This usually happens when going about 45mph. Its fluid is fine, but it was leaking fluid via a drive shaft seal before I got it, but it is fixed now, the seal that is. Any help would be great.

Why are you attributing this to the tranny?? Sounds like an engine problem to me.

clean the egr passages as this is the most common cause of the hesitation problem. you will need to remove fuel rail to get to access cover.

Re: Auto Transmission problem with 94 accord (Hondaman56)
the reason i think it is a prob with the trans is cuz it makes a hesitation like you would need to down shift in a manual trans. if i don't let my foot of the gas the car will actually start to shake. but i will deff give it a shot

Re: Transmission problem with 94 accord (lukejaj1)
Let me know how time consuming and easy it is, I'm getting good gas mileage but if I'll take all I can get. Makes for a good day project too!
Your "shaking" problem (depending upon what RPM you're talking about) sounds like it may be missing as well. That would definitely cause hesitation and make your car sluggish. On a four cylinder at low RPM its pretty easy just to feel the exhaust which should be consistent little puffs.
Also do you have the VTEC motor? Its possible you have a problem there as well.

Re: Transmission problem with 94 accord (Schmitey)
yah that deff did not work, the ports needed to be cleaned but the shutter is still there, i do believe it is a problem with the trans cuz when it was leaking oil when i first got it the noise would get worse and when i over filled the trans it would go away. i am thinking about a oil flush i don't know, the shutter is getting worse. any help would be great, no it is not a vtec motor.
