Re: transmission (thambi23)
Because of our weak trannys, flushes arent recommended because flushing eats away the weak gears even quicker. How many miles does your accord have?

Honda clarifies that an AT flush is 3X drain/fill
AT flush machines = killing ur tranny
read this pdf file
it tells ur how to do drains & fills

I've had issues with my 97 because the fluid was not replaced and I didn't realize that it was not.
I've done 2 transmission oil changes in 3 months and the transmission is much better.
If you have an automatic it's very easy to do.
At least on the 97 accord you can see the bolt by removing the passenger side tire.
You just remove the drain plug and fill into the dipstick.
You will also need a breaker bar for this as the torque is probably really high on the bolt.
Hope that helps.

Re: transmission (tpot90)
Being ignorant of Honda auto tranny issues, I was wondering what exactly eats away the gears during a flush??? Isnt it just tranny fluid being forced in and out during a flush with a machine or is it a cleaning solution or what?
dont mean to hijack, just an honest question...

Supposedly it frees up clogged up crap and throws it back up into the tranny (like caked on metal flakes/etc).
So it can be better to just leave things be and not worry about loosening that stuff up after a certain point.

Re: transmission (SOHCMAN)
wt I heard is auto tranny drives by pressure
& using machine flush will clean up all the clogged up crap
its gd for a brand new tranny(brand new shouldn't have these crap anyways)
but in used tranny, these clogged up crap "help" to hold up the pressure
and all of a sudden u flush these crap out
& the pressure got messed up
its like
slowly building up a dam in river is "ok"
suddenly remove the dam in river may flood the area around it
