Q. about front engine mount (6th gen 4cyl)
I need to replace my front engine mount in my 2001 Accord 4cyl.
Only problem is, last time i did it (on a 94exr), my radiator was out and i had space to work..
This one, my impact gun is too big to get down there (because of the rad. fans) and 2 of the bolts are obstructed by the support on the block. I would need some angle to get in there.. The only worthy solution would be to undo the plate that is bolted to the engine block... Is that a good idea? Meaning; will i have trouble re-aligning those 3 bolts back after?
Thanks!

you shouldn't have any problems with putting that part of the mount back on later. If it makes it easier to do the job by removing that bracket, then go ahead.

Thanks Touring!!
I'm thinking about getting a wobbled extension or a U-joint with a long extension for my ratchet, it could come handy for other jobs too. I'll go shopping this week!
Funny thing is i called a parts store (Carquest) and they quoted me 67$ for the mount, while Honda quoted me 31$.. I find this wierd since usually they are more expensive at the dealer.
Little question like that; i was thinking about filling the new mount with urethane to make it more solid and stiffer, but could it put more stress on the 3 others since this one will be stiffer?
Thanks alot!

Re: (Nathan007)
yeah, those universal joints are very useful at times.
If you want to make the front mount a little stiffer it shouldn't hurt the other mounts, but if you want to be safe just get something in a 63A hardness as that won't be as stiff but still stiffer than the stock mount.
Do some searching on this as there are a lot of ways to do this from just filling the stock mounts to burning/melting the rubber out and completely redoing it with the urethane.
