tokico adjustables
hey, I purchased my car with tokico adjustables (whites), I was wondering if anybody has these on their cars and tell me how I can adjust them.
When I open my hood I see the dials, 1-5, is it the same for the rear? do I have to pull apart the carpet to adjust the rear? or only the fronts are adjustable?

Re: tokico adjustables (devilpuppy)
I'm not sure exactly how they are layed out on the tokico's. With my KYB's there is a **** on the back struts at the bottom of the strut. Get under the car and see if you have the same.
The front, the dials determine the stiffness of the strut. 1 is the softest, 5 the hardest. Adjust it however you like but make sure both front struts are on the same level and both the rear struts are on the same level.

i have them on my '99.
just like sj993 said, 1 is the softest.
front and rear are both adjustable. you just need to get to the top of the shock to make the adjustment. use any small flathead screwdriver, and make sure you feel it click into the next position.

what setting is yours at?....here in ontario, some of teh roads are nice and smooth, but we have the minor areas where the roads are full of pot holes

No, for the rear there is a **** with settings on it. The know is located at the bottom of the strut. Get under the car and you should see them. To adjust it simply turn the **** until you hear it click at whatever position you want it at.

i'm not sure what it takes to get to the top of the struts and a '96... on my '99 the top of the struts is directly under the rear deck
mine's currently set to 3 in front, 4 in the rear. for me, my settings are a mix between comfort and handling.
the roads here are ok at best. my advice would be that if you're planning to make them stiffer, adjust them one click at a time, so you can feel the difference. if you're attempting to make them softer, 1 is about equivalent to OEM struts.

Re: tokico adjustables (devilpuppy)
drivers usually find haveing the front and rears the same is not the best, and usually make the rears much stiffer.....you just need to make sure the fronts are both on the same setting, and the rears are both on the saem setting

I keep mine at 5 all around for now...i find if i keep them soft when i go over speed bumps (which i always do) it gets a lil bouncy and ive grown used to the stiff setting (i have Eibach springs which are pretty soft). I usually change mine a few times a year, after a while you get used to the setting and grow bored.
