Ok i know to NEVER buy strut bars that are more then one piece.. i knwo that part, what im confused about is, these strut bars i see on ebay, summit racing, etc that are one long bar.. but then the pieces that bolt on under the hood, are black pieced that are screwed on it seems.

see how it lookes like the black piece is screwed on....

well my question is.. is this ok, or when peopel say one piece.. do they mean it from bolt on to bolt on and no screw on looking stuff on the bar... thats my question.. thanks

This is one of the ones to avoid...

You want to find one where the bar and mounts are all one piece.

Really? b.c im having such a hard time finding one thats one piece from strut to strut..

ive searched google, ebay and summitt, i mean i knw i haven tchecked EVERY website out there, which is nearly impossible, so if someone can shed light on it, id appricate it

"A strut bar is a strut bar, regardless where you buy it or how much you pay for it.
There are several points which should guide your choice.
It should be as straight and inflexible as possible
The tower brackets should use at least three mounting points
The tower brackets should not be stamped steel, but rather fully machined or fabricated from heavy gauge steel plate.
There should be some provision (turnbuckle) which can fine-tune (or preload) the length of the bar for proper operation."

If you can find this on EBay, good for you.

Just buy that one, it's not like you going to feel anything from a solid piece 3 point titanium to a taiwan special 3 piece bar.

make sure you put it on right. loosen the nut while the car is on the ground, put the plates on and hand tighten the nut, put the car on jack stand(front) and torque down all the nuts.
adjust the preload/tension nuts to get the most for your 17 dollar bar

i think the CL-S/TL-S bar ends are stamp steel

actually stamped steel is stronger than forged steel so I'd say the bar is of good quality.

Wait, why do you have to jack the car up to tighten down the nuts? I've down it before while the car was just sitting and they seem very solid. Can you please elaborate on this?

I belive i heard that u cant put a rear strut bar on a 98-01 accords, (its what i heard not saying it is true) i was wondering if this is the same for a 97 se 4 door auto.

Yup, There you go. Welded plate steel for the three point tower mounts and the adjustable turnbuckle. Straight across w/no bends. That's what I was talking about.

So that you don't hany any preload on the suspension.

if your looking for a true one piece strut bar, neuspeed makes them for 5th gens...

what? that is not possible since all yo are doing is removing the bolts placing the strutbar on and replacing the bolts. you can eaily install a strut bar without having to lift the car off of the ground. Strut bars only servce to brace the strut towers and not anything else.

it's true because the rear strut is all the way up the rear speaker deck(right behind rear passenger's watermelon) for six gen.

in order to install a rear strut you need to pull off alot of stuff, i have a rear strut bar on my 6th gen. but i only use it for hpde. which i pull out alot of interior waste already

5th gen's shock only goes up to the trunk, so it's no bigger for you guys

i installed mine with it lifted, because my honda master said so

and if you lift the car and try to play around with the preload nut, i bet you can get a half a turn or so.(at least for mine)
