Shifter won't come out of park, brake lights finicky
hey there party people,
I have a 2002 Honda Accord SE. My shifter wouldn't come out of park yesterday, and after some googling I figured out it was because of my brake lights not working. I used the little slot next to the shifter to get it out of park, so that's fine.
The general consensus seems to be it would either be the fuse, or the brake light switch. I checked the fuse, and it seemed to be fine. After driving some more though, I noticed that now the brake lights seem to be KIND OF working. Not all the time, but sometimes. Would this still possibly be the brake light switch? If so, is there a way to actually check the brake light switch to see if it's faulty? and lastly, I called my local Honda and they have a brake light switch for 44 bucks. Any suggestions where i can get it cheaper anywhere?
thanks!

When you press your brake pedal do you hear a noise? There is a solenoid that allows you to go out of park which makes sure you are pressing your brake in order to go into reverse/drive, if its broken then you wont be able to go out of park.
