hey does anyone have any info putting an rsx type s muffler on an accord?? i searched but found lots of civic info.. i am looking to put a rsx muffler and hook it the stock pipe. the goal is to get performance, quite and low cost..anything would be helpful...

you'd probably need some custom piping, and a flange that'll fit the flange on the muffler. I seriously doubt the entire rsx exhaust will fit without a problem.

buy the muffler and take it to midas or something. It won't be difficult for them to mount hangers and such.

man just get kteller 8 piping and a resonator and a muffler.....you are much better off for cost effectiveness

The RSX muffler is kind of pointless in putting on the accord. The inlet is about 2" even (a little bit bigger than stock piping), so you'd have to get new piping from the axle back, and new hangers or else it would be hanging way too low.

You'll get better performance just hacking off the muffler (although you'll also be hassled by cops). I suggest just getting a new catback system (RS*R Ex-mag and Apexi World Sport are very quiet), and you'll be getting performance and a quiet sound.

As for price, I got my Apexi WS for about $390 shipped through turboimport.com, and they also have the RS*R Ex-mag for about $450 shipped.

Just a quick note, those were the cheapest prices I've been able to find on the web, and that's out of about 30-40 parts sites.

when i said performance i mean better flow than stock not like a fart can pos. so just ditch the rsx muffler go after market or just keep it stock. next question would the stock accord lx exhaust be to restrictive for an h22a would i loose noticeable HP or torque??

yes, when i went from stock to 2.5" my h22 came alive

that and a good header.. and youll be very happy

yes, very much so, you are going an H22 needs a 2" at the very, very least to breather right, I think the stock LX is 1 1/2"

i'll be getting my rsx type S muffler soon. and the Type S owners have said that it's a 2.25" inlet. Same thing as the integra type r and that's why some civic owners (and non ITR owners) get the type R muffler. i'll let you know how it goes. have you checked out cb7tuner.com or accordtuner.com?
