Default in DRIVE,she revs, but wont move

switching from park into reverse or drive my girl says the car wont move(sometimes). she would step on the gas and the rpm's will rev up,but the mphs wont move and just sit on zero. she said after she turns off the car and start it up again, things are fine. any ideas?

What? Okay, we'll disregard that comment. Is she sure the transmission is fully engaging in each gear? Does she feel that little thud when going from park to reverse?

^yep.

also that thud SOMETIMES is pretty hard. especially on a hill. maybe thats normal but i still worry. and wtf does the suspension have to do with the problem at hand? also IF this might relate to each other, sometimes when trying to put into park the P light would take a bit until it lights up.

Next time it seems to just rev tell her to try and jiggle the shifter just a bit and then hit the gas. Push it forward a bit or back a bit, a little to the side maybe. It might not be lining up right.

not sure how that relates, but please explain. i've never been able to check the lvls, but was planning to this weekend and perhaps flush it. but what is the problem with me having to jerk the gear until its locked? why do i have to resort to that now?

please i kno this is a stretch and doubt you will ever see this but did u ever figure it out? I was driving, had the music blasting so of course I didn’t hear anything so I see it revving at like 7000 rpm and im like wtf so i coasted and pulled over and now I’m having the same problem that you were having; with my girls car and she is in missouri on a family trip wtf lol. Maybe low on tranny fluid? It locks in gear but doesn’t do anything
